GORDON RAMSAY'S HEALTHY APPETITE is a must have for those who want great tasting food without all the calories and fat. It seems some have been put off by the fact that this is not a diet book. No one ever said it was. Rather, it is a healthy approach to eating without blowing your entire way of living out of the water. What Ramsay wants to make clear (I believe) is that there are several factors involved in healthy eating: proportion, moderation, seasoning, and the right combination of foods, just to name a few. Highlights for me include the "Four Cabbage Coleslaw," the "Penne Primavera," and the "Pot roast sirloin of beef." an amazingly inspirational book. i have since planted veggies and nowonly buy seasonal produce. a beautiful book with recipes that work. when will we see a full veggie cook book?

How many times have you bought a cook book and only end up using two or three recipes from it. Having opened Ottolenghi I started at the beginning and read through all the recipes and have not found one that I don't want to do. I haven't been to the restaurant but the pictures in the book certainly whetted my appetite.

I was quite apprehensive about weaning before I started; I didn't have a clue how or what to start with. So I decided to purchase this book, and was so glad with my purchase. It gives great guidleines on the weaning process, which many simple to cook recipes and ideas. I don't know how I would've coped without this book!

I'm really impressed with this book mainly for the reason that it's been my saviour recently for last minute meals that I've had to prepare for visitors. I haven't had the heart to say I've cheated but I've had nothing but compliments for the food, even from my fiancee who can't stand capers! I recommend this for real kitchen cheats who want to guarentee a tasty meal. If you want to sit back and take the full credit yourself, try something else! It's also good value at the moment. I've not seen it cheaper anywhere else.

I absolutely love this book, I watched the show and was so lulled by Nigella's coquettish cooing that I found myself wanting to make everything she did. I got the book as a gift from friends after encouraging them to watch the show, and invited them over for a Nigella Night where I made the Coq au Reisling and the Chocolate Pistachio Fudge (which although a bit rich is absolutely divine and can be varied with flavoured chocolated and some unsalted cashews as well). I have to say I much prefer watching the show as her adjective style (beat this until it forms stiff white creamy peaks) is almost as fun to watch as the cooking. But the book is fantastic and the illustrations are great - although I am a little dubious about her claim to have taken pictures of them herself ... Read More:

Richard Mabey is the author of several books on flora and fauna so he is well qualified to write a book such as this. Over one hundred edible plants are featured together with recipes and other culinary information. There is also information on how to pick and when to pick and the regulations on picking which are very important. As I come from farming stock I have to say that food for free does not mean going into a field and digging up a few potato plants or for that matter cabbages. There are plenty of hedgerow plants available for free, if you are prepared to look for them and suffer the odd few scratches. There is nothing better than a bowl of freshly picked blackberries or raspberries, if you can get them home before they are all eaten. ... Read More:

This is the book to turn to after a long day at work, but you want something tasty for dinner.Put away the takeaway menus, almost all the dishes in this book are quicker and tastier.Not to mention a whole lot better for you.Stock up with a few essentials, follow the recipies, and you can have great food on the table, and still have time to "play". I really don't need yet one more unqualified would-be dietician telling me I need to keep cramming mush into my baby. Even UNICEF now reccomends we drop the facination with purees, so I'll quite happily stop giving Ms. Karmel my money to tell me how to puree the family meal.
