A great read, engagingly written. He is a little arrogant and clearly likes to demonstrate his intelligence however recovers his humility with a wonderful sign off to the book. Enjoy.

As a previous reviewer states, this book seems as if it has been rushed into print. In addition to the poor quality of the graphs (they look like they have been photocopied) the short section where Soros provides a chronology of his recent trading decisions just read like a few pages of his diary have been added to the book to fill it out.

In addition, if you have read any of Soros' other books prepare to go over some familiar ground. As he fairly explicitly acknowledges a large motivation for him to write is to promote his conception of relexivity. If you are expecting and wanting to read this and discover trading tips, or very specific economic predictions you might as well save your money. Almost by its nature the concept of reflexivity does not ... Read More:

I had not expected Klein's book to be this good. We learn a lot here about how the Chicago School of Economics (as pioneered by Milton Friedman) has been responsible for some of the most atrocious political crimes of the last 4 decades. Crimes that were committed not only against the body politic of developing nations but also the bodies of human beings tortured under dictatorships.

Everyone who doubts that America has blood on its hands for its interference in world affairs (e.g. Chile, Iran, Russia, Argentina) needs to open their eyes. Democracy and Free Markets do not go hand-in-hand as Bush and the Neo-Cons would have you believe, but quite the opposite: wherever Chicago economists have sought to imopose their brand of capitalism it has been enforced ... Although I found this book helpful I felt that it could have contained alot more practice questions. Half of the book talks about why you want to be a doctor and how to write your personal statement when really what I wanted was more practice questions which were in another book I bought.

Here it is, the cure for insomnia!

Given that one of the aims of the Life in the UK test is to test English literacy, you would think the official guide would be written in accessible English! Instead, we are handed this sloppy compilation of pointless statistics, useless abbreviations, dry facts with little context and advice that will make you slap your forehead and scowl: 'Well, OBVIOUSLY!'

A blue box pops up every so often asking the reader 'check that you understand...', but oftentimes what is listed has NOT been explained or even mentioned in what you've just finished reading. I defy anyone to explain to me the differences between the Council of Europe, the Council of the EU, the EU, the EC and the European Parliament at the best of times, but especially after ... The best thing about this book is that it questions the common desire to become a millionaire, and actually shows that this is used by many people as an excuse to delay living their dream lifestyle.

That in itself, for many, will make the book worth the price and the short time it takes to read.

This book focuses on creating an additional income largely through automated work and tasks that can be outsourced. This leaves you with a passive income and free time.

The book is not as detailed as it could be, and it does seem disjointed in places. There have also been doubts over how accurate Ferriss' claims are.

Don't let any of that put you off reading this book which could change the way you view work, money and lifestyle forever.

To reduce philosophy and literature to pieces of garbage is the main characteristic of our time, a dark age in belief. Absolute individualism, freedom, egocentricism are destroying the Western society have already show serious signs of all kinds of sickness. And this book and the phenomenon it created is nothing new, but really old: that people without direction but full of illusion have every reason to cheer about, when they see something like this to further draw their hearts to the darkness that refuses the light. I wonder how long this darkness and sickness will last.

I liked aspects of this book but in the end I found its central message too ego-based. It's clear that many of us put limits on ourselves and that it can be beneficial for us to transcend those limits, but that needs to be balanced by an awareness of how desire is part of the problem, and how we can actually find contentment by stopping wanting things like success and wealth. Desire makes us unhappy because it makes us dissatisfied. So to some degree, we need to overcome desire. For a more edifying read, try Making Time by Steve Taylor, which shows how you can control and expand time by filling your life with new experience and by living in the present.

As a complement to something like Malcolm Gladwell's 'Blink' this is a useful reader. It explores more of the mechanics of why we make decisions on instinct and from emotion. In that sense it is fascinating.

This book is an excellent introduction to NLP and presents all the core concepts in an accurate way. NLP is a very wide-ranging theory but this author has managed to introduce the core framework very cogently. Perhaps there could have been more diagrams and illustrations, and perhaps a little less jargon too - but as NLP has so much of its own terminology it's difficult to see how this could be avoided. I would have liked to read a little more about time perception too, after reading Steve Taylor's excellent book Making Time, which looks at why time seems to speed up and slow down (and even completely disappear) in different situations.
