A good idea for a book and it very nearly comes off as a good read. When Stef is cameraperson there is much more feeling to the book. The detours to visit places make excellent reading. Unfortunately after she has to quit through injury the sparkle goes out of the book. Enter Andy and it all goes downhill. It becomes apparent that the idea is to get to the finish line as quickly as possible with no thought to what places may actually be missed by this style of travel. They could just as well have flown instead of driving for the last part of the book for the interest shown. I compared the Michelin A4 guide against other guides. To me the Michelin guide is much more detailed, and is a perfect size for the car Also saved £4.55 through Amazon to the RRP, and received it the day after ordering it, even though I'd selected the free postage option - great service.

This book is a great resource for things that many Brits will be unfamiliar with in the USA - tipping customs, WDW hotels, attractions outside of the major Disney/Universal/Seaworld parks, and it is definitely something I would recommend to the first timer - but in conjunction with other resources (books, websites). My major gripe is that the touring advice isn't particularly good, and nowhere near as thorough as it could be. Not only that, but the attraction descriptions/reviews sound like something straight out of Disney rather than objective look from an outsider. Only that it's good, has clear mapping and lots of detailed information. It has a ring binding, which I like as this enables you to keep the book open at the desired page without damaging it. It also has a complete index of towns and villages at the back, and each of the city centre maps has its own street index - very useful. Not to mention the small scale route planning map and the map of administrative departments. What more could you need? And it's just about small enough to fit in your glove compartment. So if it seems a little heavy, unwieldy and difficult to navigate at times, well, France is a lot bigger than England.

The big AA road atlas uses IGN mapping which really is the best for French roads. No annoying ring binder on this one either.

This is the best guide book I have ever read. It is very comprehensive and helped us have the best possible trip to Disney World we could have had - and meant I didn't have to wait in too many queues. We did get a couple other books, but they weren't a patch on this one. This book reviews everything from hotels, restaurants (even the counter service) and rides. It also has "touring plans" which tell you the best way to navigate around the parks to avoid the crowds. Super! BUY THIS BOOK!

We are planning a fly-drive trip to the USA and we have been looking for information/things to do in places.We initially looked at the Foders books but then stumbled across this book. What a fantastic informative book, the only problem with having this book is we need to book a longer holiday !!! It is excellent value for money and a must have for fly-drive touring of the USA.

This appears to have all the hallmarks of a good read for me: I'm very interested in philosophy, psychology, travel (plus a bit of a hippie so I'm sure there's a latent Buddhist in me somewhere). However, after trying this twice - and putting it down both times, never to be picked up again - I just can't see what the hype is about and am left wondering who this book actually appeals to. There doesn't seem to be anything vivid, interesting, or gripping about it. One of those books that I wanted to like so much, but found incredibly disappointing. Over-rated.
