We've got a pretty complete collection of Jamie Oliver books so you would think there is a possibility he gets repetitive. Pleased to say however that he has come up with a big book (I think his heaviest to date) of fresh new ideas. Again, they are imaginative and appealing, while still being straightforward to reproduce. A sensible book to have.

An unnamed man and his sun struggle through a post apocalyptic American wasteland. As they struggle towards the coast, they have to deal with cannibals, with disease, thieves and above all the simple day to day challenge of staying fed and sheltered in a scorched earth where ash rains from the sky.

Everything in this unrelenting book is beautifully structured. The title is perfect, it is a "road" book, the journey is the story and the story is the journey. The blasted sparseness of the landscape is reflected in the sparseness of the prose. The characters are flattened, their dialogue is terse and emotionless, the palate in which the world is painted is flat and monochrome, all colour and life crushed out by the terrible grey, fatally ... Bought the book as it was a recommended summer read, and I have always been interested in India and the connections to British "rule".

Was not dissapointed, enjoyed the book, liked the characters and the places visited by them, about a time of change.

Cannot vouch for its accuracy, but feel that a lot of effort was made by the author. Believe there was a small error in the part when they were in Cairo, and will try to pass this on.

Liked it and was happy I made that choice.

My partner and I have been so grateful to the friends who bought us this book! It really does contain everything you need to know, and has been very reassuring for me as someone who tends to worry a lot about everything! Even my partner has read large chunks (something he has not done with the other books we have). I particularly liked the step by step weekly guide which was incredibly informative. The photography is amazing and the narrative is very well informed (by properly qualified professionals). Buy this for yourself and your pregnant friends - they'll be forever grateful.

Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector

At Joan Patterson Associates we use this as the course text for our 5 day PTLLS course. A wide range of students working in a variety of settings have said what a great introduction to post 16 teaching this book provides. Students find the book a great help when completing their assignments and reference to it for the level 4.

A great book pitched at the right level for the PTLLS course.

Newburn's `Criminology' is the last word in criminology textbooks. Enjoyable to read, comprehensive and authoritative, Newburn's `Criminology' is a real subject `bible'. Newburn's highly accessible style means that complex information is explained clearly without losing depth. The plentiful, varied and original illustrations help to bring concepts, writers and the subject as a whole to life. An excellent resource throughout a criminology degree, Newburn's `Criminology' represents absolute value for money and I highly recommend it to all criminology students.

I finished the books last night for the fourth time (in the space of a couple of years...) and was in a cab going home. I kept crying and crying and felt so very sad even though i know what was coming.

The first time I finished reading the book I kept thinking non stop about Clare and Henry for days and days. This is the most amazing book I have read and very likely to ever read. It is the story of true love conquering everything and what amazing creatures human beings are! I can never recommend this book enough and I do so to everyone I talk about books.

Read it and you will be excited, happy, sad, enlightened.

I'm no expert on cbt or any type of psychology and I'm always slightly wary. CBT, however, was recommended to me by a psychologist to assist me to help my client group - troubled young people. I love the 'for Dummies' series as they are really easy to read but provide you with quite a broad knowledge for a layman. There is a wealth of sound practical advice in this book for everybody and I can't believe how much I'm learning about myself and my incorrect thinking and its effects. This book requires a lot of concentration (although the style of writing is easy) and effort to think the material through and also to complete the exercises but it really is life-changing. I don't know if it works really well for serious mental health problems but it is certainly working for me and I will ... Read More:
