Books : The Jungle Is Neutral
I read this wonderful book after meeting his son on a beach in Asia.
He complained that his father never got the recognition and fame that came to Lawrence of Arabia, though his father had done similar acts of daring, blowing up trains and fighting the Japs in the Malayan jungle with very little back up.
He was working in Saudi Arabia and encouraged me to go there to work ; unfortunately in 1985 after going for a motorbike ride in the desert with a colleague, they both disappeared without trace.
With the benefit of hindsight we can be sure of foul play.
Before going to visit his mother, I had the strange coincidence of being given an auction house catalogue which contained photos of Freddie Spencer Chapman on an early trip ... Read More:

Books : Reclaiming Your Life
This book was sent to me by a very dear friend who had not a small part in its coming to fruition to be honest I never would have taken this book from the shelf myself, what a gem I would have missed. When I first started reading it I found it quite easy and a comfort, later on working through it things became more emotionally difficult, one actually felt the physical pain inside, it is however a healing pain, this book opens doors into your past, it enables you to enter, see what has been going on there, tidy up so to speak, then close the door behind you and move on. I would advise anyone to stick with this book and work through it as I have done, it is a book to read and re read and it CAN truly help to change your life. This book will be my constant ... 127.The Last Enemy by: Richard Hillary
1942-12
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Books : The Last Enemy
This is a beautifully written account of one pilot's participation in a crucial WW2 battle. The author spent only a relatively brief period in action; but his description of his privileged period at Oxford, and of fighter training at the beginning of World War 2, are worth reading in their own right.

However, the real subject of this book is the recovery (sadly incomplete) he made from the horrific burns suffered after being shot down on the first anniversary of the outbreak of War. Burns treatment was crude before the outbreak of WW2, and shot-down pilots were the guinea pigs who enabled huge advances in this field to be made. (Hillary's plastic surgeon was the great Sir Archibald McIndoe.) Hillary's courage in fighting his way to this recovery, ... Read More:

Books : Affair
Baxter St.Ives is the least hero-like male lead that I hitherto encountered in Ms. Quick's works of literature. He is not dashing nor handsome, he is in his own and his relatives' opinion dull, bland as a potato pudding, in fact. These are characteristics that Charlotte Arkendale wants to have in her man-of-business, but which she does not see in Baxter, although everybody else does. For her, he is interesting. For me, too.

Charlotte is your Ms. Quick heroine, energetic, self-assured, matter-of-fact, independent. One tends to like her kind of ladies in Ms.Quick's books. Her interaction with Baxter is believable. Baxter may seem dull on the surface for people that admire dashing people; it is explained why Baxter wants to avoid expressing his temper or moods ... Read More:

130.My Fair Lady (Score) from: Hal Leonard Publishing Corporation

Books : My Fair Lady (Score)
"My Fair Lady" is a fabulous play, wholly entertaining as a brilliant sample of the performing arts - enjoyable both as a play and as a musical extravagansa.

This is a concise, comprehensive publication, covering absolutely everything regarding the play, "My Fair Lady" - includes the entire liberetto (That is to say, lyrics and lines), and also contains cast list from the 1964 film and photo stills from the said film.
Stage directions are accurate and give a lot of guidance, but still allow for a lot of dramatic license.

In short, I highly reccomend this book to anyone who wishes to have a script for "My Fair Lady", especially those looking to direct a production.
