I bought Aperture 2 and thought I had got to grips with the basics. I decided to buy this book as a reference for developing my skills. As a reference it is great. However, I have recently been following Richard Harrington's pod casts, one of the authors, and they have moved me on considerably. The book is no longer simply a reference point- it is a road map for discovering the amazing potential of this incredible software. Own a PC? Buy a Mac, buy Aperture 2, buy this book.

What a great book. Concise with well thought-out chapters. Figgis writes in his own voice without self-promotion. This is really essential reading for anyone embarking on independant film making with a digital camcorder. He covers all aspects including your relationship with actors. This is not a technical how-to textbook, it's about the kind of experiences you would only get from working along side an experienced director.

This is a brilliant book for any wedding photographer. He gives technical help without being boring and the book is full of inspiring photos. I read most of it before my last wedding and my photos were massively improved.

I really enjoyed this book - lots of little things that make you think, and some really basic things that you probably wouldn't know unless you have finished architecture school. As I am just starting out, I thought it was great. Good tips for crits, drawing, etc.

I have many art books, but none as used and flipped through as this book. It is easy to use as a reference book and would always be first on my list. With great colour prints of Artists work, a brief history on each Artist and an important example of each Artists' work. It is a great book for students at an affordable price, and handy size. GREAT BUY!!!!

I like drawing myself, but I needed a little help in some areas of drawing. I came across this book in waterstones and bought it (sorry amazon!), as it looked very informative. How right I was. It is great for taking each project step by step, storing it in a portofolio (excuse my spelling) and looking back and reflecting on it. I have enjoyed this book, and I doubt I will ever be 'finished' with it.
