If you like small pictures of your favourite scenes of Vegas, the book may just about satisfy your interest. To that end it will probably be ideal for people who have just returned from the holiday of a lifetime in the city of Sin. Although in fairness, a few carefully chosen postcards at 10 cents a throw will do a better job.
But don't rely on this book for depth, commentary or assistance. The reason is simple. How can you have a top 10 list of casinos, restaurants, sights, etc , when there are so many. Pick a book that lists them all and gives more extensive research.

Looking for an atlas of WORLD HISTORY, I was attracted to this title.

It's maps are excellent. The religious, military, political and economic detail of Europe and the Mediterranean Basin in pre-history, antiquity, the middle ages and through to the French Revolution are indeed fantastic, as is the history which is mostly presented as a timeline within each issue. My only possible complaint is that the book itself is small and the maps need a keen eye.

However, there are very few maps on the rest of the world. China, the Middle East, Africa, the New World - there are very few maps, and many are about Europe's interaction and intervention in these regions.

In a word: Eurocentric. No doubt it was initially ... Read More:

I don't understand the other reviewers at all. Perhaps they're not great map readers. I'm a Londoner and have been for years and I still get lost or end up taking a long winded route. These little gems enable you to see how everything fits together. It will give you the confidence to use the buses, tubes and YOUR FEET to get around London rather than sweat it out in the car. Well, that's what it did for me. So now I have a bunch of these in my present cupboard to give to friends. £3 for a new lease of life? I'd say it WAS worth it.

We took this book for a spin last weekend and ended up having the time of our lives. I took our camping stove and a lemon (would you ever think of taking this on a walk?) and made nettle tea.
Yes! It turned from green to pink, the kids loved it and my 10-year old actually drank it. Oh, and my husband now thinks he is Ray Mears and has gone all survivalist. Plus, I've been inspired to start reading some classic children's literature to my kids which makes welcome change to Jaqueline Wilson. Thank you.
