3 of Alan Bennett`s short plays including 2 of his favourite leading ladies , Dame Thora and Patricia Routledge. I had read the first two before , the third , a dialogue between himself and Dame Judi Dench was a stranger to me . This collection is classic Bennett at it`s very best -- a joy to listen to . Hopefully more of his early works will find their way onto disc soon.

Once again, Lynda La Plante gives a thoroughly gripping read. The characters jump to life and give the impression that you are part of the scene of investigations, and the police teams investigating the series of events. The storyline has topical issues, and some sinister practices. Overall, an excellent read.

I am sorry but it doesn't do what it says on the label. A guided meditation, I felt as tense and uptight at the end as I did before I started. I didn't feel as if the meditation was going anywhere, not to a relaxed state, not to a sense of peace, calm or tranquility, I felt as though I was always hovering on the edge of something about to happen.

Martin Jarvis is a delight as he invests every character with their own voice. He alternates smoothly between interpretations of the put upon butler Beach, the scheming investigator Pilbeam, the driven ex-secretary the Efficient Baxter and all the rest. The only one that he doesn't try is the Empress herself and I'm sure that he'd have carried it off in triumph if he had attempted it. Wodehouse's story is, of course, top notch.

This book/CD set comprises numerous short songs sung in spanish by spanish children. The book includes a simple music score (on one line, for flute/recorder/one hand on the piano!) and the words, with examples of further verses (should you wish to make the songs longer than the version on the CD), good diagrams of actions, and opportunities to add some percussion instruments. The idea behind the set is very good - giving the children a chance to really join in, making language fun for children. This is where the set earns 2 stars! I bought the French version of this book, and felt that the songs were great for children to listen to, but a bit advanced in it's language - well, this spanish version is the opposite! The ... I bought this CD after experiencing a period of anxiety. I realised soon after using this CD how much tension and stress I was carrying around with me. I istened to it every night for 2 or 3 weeks and found it very soothing and calming. The effects seem to last throughout the day. I would highly recommend this CD. I have also bought a couple of his other CD's which are good as well.

A typical section of the additional material: before the Liverpool show, Humph is bitching about spending 4 hours on the motorway: after the closing music fades out, he sighs and says "I think I preferred the M6". Make sure you get the special edition, the one with the insert outlining the rules of Mornington Crescent.
