Most Christmas specials are dire :- the same bad jokes about turkey, wrapping and dissapointing presents.The "ISIHAC" team instead hilariously mock "A Christmas Carol" but manage to fit in the usual games :- cover your ears as Fry & Hardy salughter "A wandering Ministrel"; Samnatha is at it gain and "Mornington Crescent" is given the royal treatment. Clever, witty and festive, audio Prozac I believe !

An excellent narration by Hugh Laurie who captures the emotions and feeling of the characters in this classic book so well.

Totally disappointing. Well, I have a different idea of "advanced Spanish". The whole CD is built of 2-3 min bits of michel thomas talking . It takes 2.5 min for him to explain how is "put it down " and "do it". Really annoying, slow talk. Advanced language is not couple of useful phrases put together. I have wasted my money on this one.

I have already raved about this book in the form of a paperback - see my other review there. But for a wonderful book to be read so beautifully with such expression by a voice as rich and resonant as Isla Blair's is a real pleasure. She depicts the different characters with great expression and real attention to the nature of the characters, from the main Briony narrative to the "little boy" voices of Jackson and Pierrot, and the booming complacency of Paul Marshall. I have whiled away many hours of tedious driving listening to this audiobook in the car. A real pleasure.

Another reviewer of this product complained that the interview section with Charles Richardson isn't very funny - a reaction I simply can't understand, as these twelve interviews are simply the funniest exchanges I have ever heard. Gerard Hoffnung was just 35 when he died, but he sounds like a portly (and utterly mad) sixty-year-old, and his timing and instinct for the absurd are just exquisite. A special mention to Charles Richardson, a totally straight American reporter, assigned to extract a meaningful interviews from this eminent musician and cartoonist but finding each attempt he makes to start a conversation quickly unravelling and thus being driven ever so gently to utter exasperation. This audio CD book, alongside with other Naxos educational CDs for children, is absolutely fantastic. It contains loads of information, so adults interest is guaranteed as well as children's fascination. It's a must for curious little minds. Presented in an easy listening format, it educates and enterntains at the same time. Boring car journeys became a highly enjoyable and educational experiences in our family since Naxos CDs were purchased. Being non-fiction, they can be listened to over and over again, offering a chance for the child to remember and/or understand more details each time.

I bought this CD after experiencing a period of anxiety. I realised soon after using this CD how much tension and stress I was carrying around with me. I istened to it every night for 2 or 3 weeks and found it very soothing and calming. The effects seem to last throughout the day. I would highly recommend this CD. I have also bought a couple of his other CD's which are good as well.
