'Right now, there is a new religion invested in the City every thirty-five minutes. And yet, strangely, flame-throwers are still illegal. There is no balance in this place.'

This is a selection of Spider Jerusalem's columns.

As another reviewer has observed, it's been published before so beware. Also probably not a good idea to misunderstand the 'volume 0' tag and read it before you've read the volumes 1 to 10 - firstly because you won't understand half of it, and secondly because it contains more than a few spoilers.

But a real treat if you're already familiar with Spider.

Oh, and don't miss the walk-on appearance by another of Ellis's creations on page 44.

'We show them that just as they try to herd us back into cages of quiet mediocrity, we can chase them back to hell with the truth..'

The conspiracy widens and gets more horrible, with Spider seemingly blocked at every turn by the forces against him.

Ellis's writing is still magnificent - his characters compelling, his dialogue slick as Chandler but believable at the same time.

Buy the lot...

Warren Ellis continues to show the thunderbolts for what they are.....disfunctional nutcases! The thunderbolts are torn apart from the inside and used against one another in a cunning plot which seeks to destroy each and every one of them. Ellis captures the complete insanity of Osbourne perfectly whilst highlighting just how dangerous and unstable the team are as a whole. I'm not a particular fan of Deodato's work but in this volume he really has pushed the boat out. Fans of the previous volume won't feel let down by this. I just wish it was longer and that Ellis was writing more of the thunderbolts but what the hell. As Marvel comics go, this is quite a dark and nasty corner of their universe.

This book along with the dark phoenix saga, is a must for any Marvel comic fan.

The art work is rich and the arch of the story is compelling.

I believe that this book, should be rated as highly as Return of the Dark Knight by Frank Miller.

For those who are interested in learning more about what catapulted Wolverine into a genre defining character look no further than this graphic novel.

Once you open this book it is nearly impossible to stop. Even people who normally do not like books will love this one. It's a comic but not comical.. (unless your sense of humour is very very dark). It let's you experience the horrors of the holocaust more realistically than any other book or film I have seen about it.

I love this book and could not recommend it more highly. Enjoy.
