Being a fan of both Neil Gaimans work especially the sandman and of marvel characters i brought this comic the moment i saw it. Of course it was definiely worth it and i pity the fool who said it wasnt that good. Anyway the artwork is nothing short of spectacular, the story is amazing and neil gaiman is a true genius. It is written really well and it is cool because it has an amazing twist. If you dont get this you are pretty darn stupid becauxe it is amazing. So buy it now, or steal it or borrow it.

I can live with the cliché's, I can live with the patronising ex pat, 'ollywood cockernee type characterisation's, I can even forgive John Byrne (once a legend in this business), but what I cannot forgive is that this is very poor and worst of all NOT FUNNY! It is simply short of the mark and way off target and desperately tries to capture a long dead zeitgeist that probably only ever existed in the minds of Americans watching "The Avengers" re-runs on TV as kids and in the long since dried up comedy brain of John Cleese who clearly spends way to much time in La La Land and out of England to recognise this for the poor excuse of a parody that it fails to be...shame

I loved the first one, it added a new feel to a very strong series. It's not, in my opinion as good as The Ultimates (new avengers) series or the Ultimate Spider-Mans but it has strong leading characters and interesting arcs. I think the second volume is alot more stylised than vol 1 and I don't think this helps. If you're a first time Marvel reader, get Spider-Man volume 9, Ultimate Six

Once again the Artwork and Writing make this a joy. The main character a post soviet special forces spetsnaz soldier drives the story from Afghanistan to the American South West, his totem a Lee-Enfield Mk.1 .303 harkening back to an age where things were appeared to be more black and white.( things were not hence Rule .303 for poor old Breaker Morant ).

I got this as a Christmas present and it is fabulous! I've not had much time to read the whole thing but the imagery is superb and the text is incredibly detailed. Everything is laid out immaculately and it even includes the screenplay (which is also great). An excellent book for an excellent film!
