I've read both of Jordan AKA Katie Price's book, and I have to say I'm now a fan and can't wait for her third book. People can say whatever they want, but love her ot hate her you have to admit she tells it just like it is. I love the fact that someone before me just copied out one paragraph from the book, it's a very good read. I like her direct attitude and the way you feel like your just having a girly chat with her, not being spoken down too. I say, give it a go, you might just be supprised.

I bought this book after reading a serialisation in a paper, and found it a really fascinating read. Everything from prostitution to guns to drugs to cyber crime to diamonds to people trafficking is covered in a wide ranging examination of the globalised nature of the black market, and its enormous influence on society and politics.

This is a fantastic book, i have always been a fan of Theo. The book starts with how he got to where he is and works its way to where he is now, I feel the book isn't giving away too many secrets but thats Business. The only reason i have given the 4 stars rather than 5 is that Theo goes on about Football for 2 Chapters and i am not a football fan and some of it went on a bit. Definatly buy this book you will not regret it.

Loved reading this book - very poetic & completely devoid of self-pity despite Maya's obviously deprived background & her having been the victim of extensive racial prejudice.

My only issue with it is how Maya who seems to be an extremely intelligent woman, doesn't ask herself whether it is a good thing that she had a baby resulting from an apparent one-night stand @ 16 - it seems that casual sex was almost expected & her Mum almost wanted her to be sleeping with strangers. She does seem to have come from the type of background placing her at risk of teenage pregnancy but maybe should have put a 'health warning' on young readers warning them not to indulge in risky sexual behaviours as getting pregnant at 16 is (despite what Maya ... Me Talk Pretty One Day is the first Sedaris book I've read. It is a series of anecdotes and reminicences and, as such, the chapters are rather uneven. The best of them (towards the end of the book) are genuinely laugh-out-loud funny; when Seadris pulls it off he creates that magical mixture of insightfulness, charm, bitchiness and wit that makes you wish he were singing for his supper at one of your dinner parties.

Clear-eyed observation of both the eccentricities of family and friends, and the moments we all can relate to, however obliquely, is at the base of the best humour and Sedaris definitely has this.

Inevitably, he does not quite pull it off with all his stories, which can then seem slight, rather staged and a little mannered. ... Read More:

I could recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Vegas and the world of gambling in particular. The book reads very well and it's impossible to put it down, it builds up to a nice climax and wants you to know more about the subject. This book made me a Ben Mezrich fan.

This book is beautifully written and I was desperate to read Toni's sequel as I needed to find out if she ever did manage to get answers from her mother or a resolution over her father's actions.

The book is damning indigtment of the Northern Irish Protestant family that ostracised her for "shaming" her father by reporting the abuse when he had made her pregnant.

A step above many of the Memoirs of misery that currently flood the market.

I hope this book enables others to face the fear and speak out for themselves, or helps others to not keep secrets when they KNOW other family members or friends are being abused.

I applaud Toni Maguire, she is an inspiration.

I am a big fan of Liz Smith and thought I would enjoy this book but I just did not. The book is very bitty, not in any chapters and she is too vague about events in her life. The only time it became indepth was when she became famous and it listed all her acting jobs, which is a shame as I would have wanted to know more about her early life.
