This book is brilliant, and the perfect guide to get you started on the right foot with Spread Betting. Even if you do find some of the concepts a little tricky at first, stick with it, and all will become clear.

Some might think Malcolm is a little patronising or just pointing out the plain obvious at times, personally I just think he's thorough. 100% recommended!

Books : Get the Life You Want: The Secrets to Quick and Lasting Life Change with Neuro-Linguistic Programming
A good manual of the basics of NLP techniques written by the man who has developed much of what NLP is today. The book doesn't suggest it's all there is to NLP Bandler style, as anyone who has worked with Richard will testify, but it will give many a good grounding in what may be new techniques to them and a good reminder for those already using them.

This is definitely a book for those on a course rather than wanting a just good read or overview of current thought on economic strategy and modelling.
As someone on a distance learning MBA, the use of applied case studies make it very relevant. All the exercises make it easy for tutors to recommend
The CD ROM is worth the cost of the book alone

If you oppose conservation and clean energy, I wonder why you would. Typical concerns relate to when conservation and clean energy reduce economic growth or reduce profits for some special interest in the near term. Longer term, most people would agree that conservation and clean energy make sense.

Journalist and social activist Thomas L. Friedman could have written a much shorter book if he had simply started with the premise that it's a good idea to have conservation and clean energy. He spends most of the book providing arguments in favor of those approaches.

Those arguments are related to these propositions:

1. Rising carbon dioxide levels are either causing global warming and more violent weather . . . or ... Read More:

Hal Varian's Intermediate Microeconomics was the recommended text book for my recent 2nd year micro economics module at university.

The material is presented in a very clear and straightforward manner, using minimal mathematical notation. If you want to use a book to help you understand the actual concepts of intermediate microeconomics this is the book for you. The explanation of concepts is concise and the book covers the vast majority of topics covered in a 2nd year micro course.

One word of warning; for most intermediate courses in economics in the UK this book falls short of the level of analytics likely to be required. It is however still a very useful complement to either a more technical text or lecture notes.

I found this book to be written in a very formal style, rather long winded sentences and a bit hard to stick with. I agree with a reviewer above how mentioned that the examples became too much of the backbone behind the concepts... and I found myself re-reading the EXAMPLE over and over to try and understand or infer the 'rule' that should be learnt and applied. This isn't the easiest way to do things..

Charles Handy is arguably the UK's top business "guru", but in my opinion this title somewhat diminishes his life's work, which has gone beyond matters of simple business administration into a philosophy of life and work, and is imbued with a spirituality that I find infectious (even though I am not a very spiritual person). This, however, is his seminal management text, and there is but a hint of the philosophical musings of "The Empty Raincoat" and "The Hungry Spirit".

Understanding Organisations was first published in 1976, and my fourth edition (I don't know why Amazon describes this as the third edition - that must be an error) was published in 1993, with a revised introduction in 1999. It cannot claim to be entirely up to date, therefore, ... Read More:
