I bought this originally for myself as I am studying French, German and Spanish (for fun would you believe) but it is so easy to learn that my 7 year old has it on her iPod and we are starting to have conversations. (I also speak to her in German at times and due to how easy these CD's are, she is able to have limited chats in that too.) There are some tunes in the background which phrases are laid over in time, and you hear them and lock them in your mind along with the tune. The guys voice is almost hypnotic and the woman who speaks with him is clear and easy to understand making it ultra easy to repeat and learn. I purchased this book for a recent trip to Italy and I couldn't have done without it. The menu reader was excellent as was the section on travel. Many Italians were just impressed I tried. Many of the words were also put into useful phrases and the more difficlt words were spelt out phonetically for ease of pronunciation. I would reccomend it for any trip around Italy.

I bought this book for my son who had just started learning French and seemed to be struggling with some aspects of language learning. How I wish I had had this book when I did French at school. Why didn't anyone ever tell me the things contained in this book? There are tricks and lists to help remember and in fact guess things such as whether the word is le or la etc. Very useful book.

This book is great for starters or as refresher. I got it from the Library by mistake, but loved it so much I bought it and now my 9yr old cousin has it and she loves it. The layout and pictures make it easy for anyone to learn the basics in a matter of days! If you are looking for some holiday spanish or want a good book for young children, I would definately recommend this one!

Very informative and everything you need but the format is not very good. It is all just writing, no pictures so it is slightly boring to revise from. The good thing is that some of the words are written in blue. However it is very good because it has all the right vocabulary and more. The delivery was fine but i ordered it with many other books one of which was out of stock so it took me 2 weeks. On the whole it was very good.

I'm originally from Granada. Can't remeber the times I've been my self at Las Alpujarras. The book it's beautifully written an the recipies are not adapted to the american or north-european taste. If you want really Spanish or Meditrranean food this is one of the best books you might ever have. Might be also tru you find it difficult to find som ingredients. I feel free to change them. Just try to keep with the sort of fish or meat indicated in the recipe (meaning white fish for white fish, rock fish for rock fish, lam for lamb, and so on). This review should also apply to the book nr. 1, though here pictures are better in my opinion. As I recognise the book nr. 1 is also a 5 stars I wish I could give this one a 6 stars!
