Am I the only person who expected this to have moleskin covers? Ie covers made from that fine, soft, nice-to-feel cotton fabric.

I originally bought the large ruled notebook, but found that the line spaces were a little on the narrow side for me. Having now got hold of the plain version, it's obvious that this is the one I should have bought in the first place; I much prefer a blank space rather than blank lines. But each to their own. Having used mine for a few weeks, I can find no fault with the classic Moleskine design or the quality of the workmanship. I like the off-white paper which is neither too thin or too thick. The overall size of this notebook - rather than the pocket version - is perfect, neither too large or too small. And there are enough pages to store my genius ideas or inane ramblings for a long time, if not years. If you tend to jot ... Read More:

I bought this item for a work colleague who was travelling on her dream holiday to Mexico. I looked through this and thought wow, what a really good journal! They're sections for photos, tickets, souvenirs etc and note pages for remembering those forgotten items or special moments. My friend loved the book...I'm just waiting for her to return to share her experience with me. Good value for what you get.

It really is! If your like me and inspiration whacks you between the eyes at the most awkward times - like when your walking down the street or sitting on the train - then having this in your pocket is really handy. I really appreciate the quality moleskine have consistently applied to their whole range, and this pocket sketchbook in particular screams that. The pages are thick enough that marks don't show through on the other side, they can be opened flat which allows you to draw wider landscape style drawings and you never have the fear that the book will come apart for it, it's very 'solid'.
