The layout of the Eyewitness Travel Guides is outstanding; they separate cities by areas and color code each area, with tabs on the side of the book to make the area easy to find. There is a map of all the central color coded areas on the inside of the front cover, and inside the back cover, a more complete map of the region.
Each chapter is a "color", covering Back Bay and South End, Beacon Hill and West End, North End and the Waterfront, Old Boston and Financial District, and Chinatown and the Theater District.
There is a final "Farther Afield" chapter that covers Cambridge, the JFK Library and Museum, as well as his birthplace, which is a fascinating, small house in Brookline, the Museum of Fine Arts, the U.S.S. Constitution in ... Read More:

I used to be a slave to Time Out city guides but got frustrated after a trip to Prague where several places in my brand new guide were out of business. I have since found out that the writing, subbing, publishing, distribution turnarounds on these sorts of books takes months. If you want the latest information you need to use the internet which can be updated more easily. The Wallpaper* City Guides are great value and easy to carry around, they don't scream "MUG ME I'M A TOURIST!" due to their discreet size. The recommendations are always about aesthetically gorgeous places, so if like me this is what floats your boat, then I recommend these publications. Plus, they look great lined up on your bookshelf.

Totally fantastic, and a real pleasure to read. It was heart warming and well written FACTUAL brilliance, of an ordinary mans extraordinary journey in the freezing Iceland's of the Yukon, and his beautiful friendship with Fuzzy his four legged guide and friend. Although as you can probably tell I have never written a review before, I felt that this was such a special book I wanted all to know. Can't wait for the inevitable film. A true inspiration to us all to make the most out of life NOW!!

Books : Las Vegas (Lonely Planet City Guide)
I am a big fan of Lonely planet books and have plenty of them on my selves. But this was probably the worst one that I have from them. I found that there was not really enough information about what to do, see and find in all of the casinos and that there was too much information which I personally found unuseful and unhelpful.

The best part of the book was the history of Vegas, which I found very interesting.

I would actually say that if you are going to Vegas that you probably don't even need such a book. There is so much in all of the Casinos that after 4 days we did not see no where near all of the free things, let along the other things which you can pay to see (the dolphins in the Mirage for example). And there is also ... Read More:

On a recent trip to southern california, I spent some time in Los Angeles.
Not knowing my way around, I found this book to be very useful.
It gave me great information on things to see and do as well as places to eat, drink and sleep and personal safety information.
It also gives information on renting or buying a car, something that is absolutely essential in this huge city.
As a result of buying this book, I had a fantastic time and I didn't miss a thing. Highly recommended.
