The book of G. Sfikas describes 135 different flowers, which are very few compared to the thousands of the Greek flora. The description of each flower and the classification is good for someone who doesn't want to have details. Also some pictures are good and reveals the characteristiques of the flower but some other are either very distant or not very good quality. I hope that in the new edition these details will be improved.

We have known Crete for 15 years and operate a small holiday programme to the Apokoronou area of Western Crete. We would be lost without this map! We carry this around with us and tell our clients that this is the best map to use when visiting beautiful western crete.

Well, it is not a bad book, but I had some problems to read it all and I admit that I skipped some bits here and there. This is not something I usually do, especially in Osprey Campaign books which are short (96 pages) par principle. But this time I really had to. And when I tried to read it again a couple of moths later, well, I got the same result. So what is the problem? I would say that the writing is somehow "uninspired" - even boring by moments. The description of the battle is a little bit confused, and the maps are average - it is not always easy to follow the events. The colour plates are not bad, but the style is not so much about details - I would say it is rather more "impressionist" by moments. Not my favourite, but this ... Read More:
