I bought this for my wife who is a very good cook. I thought there was a good mix of simple and more difficult recipes for her to try. So far she has tried two. The Liquorice poached pears (p210) - trying to get liquorice essence has been a nightmare and it seems that the only place to get it is the Internet (possibly easier in London). 3 teaspoons seems a lot of essence too and an experienced chef (with 1 Michelin star) seemed to think it was over the top. If an item is hard to source tell us where we can get it. The Infusion of summer berries (p170) was the second attempt at a recipe. The Infusion, following the recipe tasted like vinegar. Was so excited when my book arrived today but to be quite honest was rather disappointed. Although the book is extremely heavy and the paper quality good, I personally was not too excited by the photos at all. Maybe I was expecting more Wildlife scenes or more landscape scenes. Too many "people" photos for my liking. Also each photograph is spread over two pages which often distracted due to the join in page. On the positive side there are a few stunning photos.

The Secret is an outward introduction and explanation of how we think on the inside becomes what we experience on the outside, because what we think we mirror and attract. With this aim, the book hits the mark. If you are getting into personal development you will find the contents very easy to read, with superb explanations. The whole thing is gentle, encouraging, informative and uplifting. People who have advanced and aligned themselves will find it does not give any new depth of knowledge, actual practice, or reference ordinary people who have achieved true creation and expansion; I will offer this advancement to you soon. I read, and absolutely loved, 'The Game' by the same author, Neil Strauss so I was looking forward to reading his second book, The Rules of The Game. Overall I would say that I enjoyed the book, and would recomend it, however there were some flaws, and it definitely wasn't as good as The Game. Strauss attempts to deliver a one size fits all dating remedy for men across the world and the result is quite hit and miss. Some of the 'missions' that the book adivises one to attempt are pretty pointless, and will not be relevant for a lot of people. I also agree with some of the other reviews which mention the comic book style stories at the back of the book. My son is a huge fan of these books - he got his first one for his 1st birthday and still loves it a year later. A great investment for a few pounds. In these sorts of books, my son likes it when you can actually 'FEEL' the difference to the pages as opposed to see it - in this I mean that he's not a huge fan of 'shiny' or 'glittery' pages and will skip them in order to go to the 'Rough' or 'Fuzzy' pages where he can feel the difference. And in this respect this book is great as is has 'tufty', 'slimy', 'knobbly', 'prickly', 'fuzzy' and 'scaly'. Other favs in this range are: dinosaur, penguin, train and puppy.

Un-funny comedy turds straight from the horse's backside of contemporary modern comedy!! This will remain un-funny until the day I pop my clogs. They should have quit when they are ahead, 8 years ago. Big haired attempt at comedy for students and drop-out's alike. Oh for Derek & Clive!!!

this book is worth it for the truffle tort. try it this is one of thoose things you make for a feeling down day with the girls. i made it for a party on new years everyone loved it. made it for work on my birthday 2 people have bought the book just based on that. the only thing that would beat this is if james made it for me at my home i can wish. the carrot cake isnt a traditional carrot cake but my partner doesnt like carrot cake i dont like fruit but this suited us both. buy it

Shelly`s book is essential reading for anyone who has trailed aound the house looking for lost keys or come downstairs for something, having to go back upstairs to remember what it was! An engrossing book. This book gives an excellent insight into the work and philosophy of a first rate chef. Most of the recipes are quite sophisticated, and the book is probably not one for a novice or nervous cook. The photographs are beautiful, and give splendid ideas for presentation. As a vegetarian, I was particularly interested in the puddings, which use pectin as a setting agent, rather than gelatine. Interesting and useful too are the 'mini recipes' - the bits between the main productions with instructions and techniques on making and using such things as powders, oils and stocks.

absolutly unbelieveable! i cannot believe that such a quality book is being sold at such a low price. some amazing street artists (not just ur run of the mill graffiti artists) from around the world all with some very unique styles, using schools such as fine art, graphics and illustration. i was going to go down to my local book shop and pay £30 for this but i amazed to see it here for a lot less! definatly worth a look for any art student wanting a modern perspective on some styles.
