After many tests, painful physio, and painkillers that didn't work my Doctor was advising tests for secondary bone cancer. After following the instructions in this book, the excruciating pain in my spine, which had increased to the point where I was housebound and miserable, vanished in minutes! My Doctor concurred that given my circumstances it was conceivable that the pain had psychological origins and admitted that the tests for bone cancer she was advising were a 'shot in the dark' given that all else had failed to pinpoint a cause. As I continue the mental exercises the muscle pain is diminishing daily and I can contemplate a return to work soon. The Harriman House edition is an abridgement, or to be more precise, an excerpt of the more juicy bits of the book. The original 3-volume book covers many subjects with plenty of gentle 19th-century musings. This edition only contains extracts on John Law, the South Sea Bubble, and the Tulip mania in the Netherlands, in a very slim little pocket volume. The edition however looks and feels fine, and would perhaps do as a present to someone who is unlikely to be seriously interested in reading the book, but more in browsing it in a casual leisure moment, and having it sit on their coffee table or their living room bookshelf. This fact is, shall we say, not immediately obvious from the blurb on Amazon.

I finished reading this book last night and I'm amazed at how easy it was to read such an amazing subject! If you're interested in finding out about which (if any) realm you belong to I definitely recommend this book!

I got this book based on the good reviews on here. It seemed really interesting for the first couple of chapters and then I got to the first exercises. How on earth I am supposed to memorise these meditations is beyond me. I suppose I could record them and play them back.... I don't believe one has to chant strange "God" names in Certain order in order to meet with one's guide. Luckily I bought this second hand. If anyone wants my copy they can have it for free!! I shall keep searching for a more practical book, one that fits in with my family life. Perhaps buy this if you have nothing else to do with your time,

I have been waiting for this book all my life. Having just become a qualified healer myself- this book has widened my perspective - a few months ago i would never have considered a book like this- but its fantastic. Written by a very spiritual human being for humans. It offers deep understanding to more about ourselves but so easy to grasp. All healers should read this. Everyone should read this!!! Alberto has a beautiful way of communicating with both the spirit world and this one and a wonderful sense of humour.
