Bought this in good faith as interested in foraging for wild food in the UK, but it is actually a north american guide, so returned as not fit for purpose. As a guide for anyone in america it would definitely not be recommended as there is nowhere near enough detail to allow definite identification, especially of fungi.

This book got me interested in a cake decorating course, simply put but when followed acheive good results. Would recommend it to those wanting to attept to decorate a cake for the first time and those wanting some inspiration.

If you have enjoyed the delights of CJJ Berry's 'First Steps in Winemaking', then this is an ideal companion and the logical next step. Although one or two of the recipes have been repeated from the first book, this contains over 130 mouth-watering recipes for home-made 'country' wines. Even at today's prices, they can work out as little as 20p per 75 cl bottle!! Unlike the first book, the wines are listed in alphabetical order rather than seasonally which makes them easier to locate. The only problem I found was deciding which to make first and having to limit production to the space available in the house. I'm not a student, I'm 30 years old but I have a bad habit of going to the supermarket, coming back having spent too much and still not enough ingredients to cook more than one meal! This book makes shopping simple, cooking even easier and all for a tiny budget. Some meals costing £1 per head?!?! I haven't tried all the recipes yet but found them so easy to follow and quick to do. You'll be healthier, fuller and your waller will be happier, so go buy it now.

I found this book a little disappointing compared to Lindy Smiths other books, I was expecting more exciting cakes. There are only 15 cakes in the book and they cover lots of different themes. I do think the cakes would be easy for a novice decorator to create though so if you are new to decorating this may be a good book to have on your book shelf.

This is a fantastic book that covers cooking and cooking skills. It is a fantastic reference, a great example of this is I wanted a hollandaise sauce recipe and the book mentions three differnet methods depending on the amount of people you are cooking for. Excellent is the only word for it and it allows you to cook in your own style with the tips/knowledge of a chef. I would like to read the book in bed from cover to cover, but I think my wife would leave me if I did.... It is a little bit sad I suppose.

Great book for teaching us to revert back to natural cooking methods & ingredients. A common sense approach to today's dietary issues with a great range of tasty recipes to choose from.

Fantastic - within 30 minutes all those bits of paper with recipes I had cut out of magazines etc over the years were neatly stored in the binder thanks to the fantastic self adhesive pages. Separate sections and loose leaf design make it really easy to use it as you wish Every home should have one! A mother of three and busy but keen cook!
