Books : The Dead Girls' Dance: The Morganville Vampires, Book II (Morganville Vampires)
I got back into reading when i read "The twilight" series and the Morganville series was one that i chose to read after i had finished this series. I prefered this sequal to the original book as i think the characters are better devloped and the plot is more fast paced however i would say to people that they should read The Glass House first to fully understand this book. Not overly complicated but a good read and a good series so far - cant wait to read the third one and for the release of the 4th and 5th.
By the way the books glow in the dark - got a fright when i first realised because i couldnt figure out what it was.

Much like The Call of Cthulhu, The Dreams in the Witch House sees another great collection of stories ranging from the "far out crazy" stuff like Polaris, to the more conventional horror stories like Dreams... or the Shunned House.

The edition itself is great value for money. It is clear that Joshi possess an large pool of knowledge on the life and works of Lovecraft. Every story contains several notes with references to other works of Lovecraft himself or other authors for further reading.

Horror stories are meant to be just that, stories, not novels or books or trilogies. Lovecraft follows more on the tradition of Poe and Dunsany than Stoker. And for my money, I'll take Lovecraft over Poe any day.

I rarely give out 5 stars, but I felt this book deserved a high rating. Everything connects to the storyline; the cover -the title and the spell on the back page. The mist and the stone is about the outcome of events. Phoebe is having frequent premonitions of events that are not necessaryily going to happen- these premontions involve her brother in laws future life as a whitelighter. The outcome must be changed, in order for the events not to proceed as the premontions do. I thought that the Paige story-line was well inter twined with the rest of the story. Paige is given the responsibility to look after a troubled youth and transfer him to a boarding shool.

I will not reveal any more further information- read this book. Absoultely ... Read More:

This book makes a mockery of the whole Twilight series. The first book in the series was brilliant, the second okay, the third better than okay, but this is plain rubbish. The diologue is rubbish, the story is boring and dull and what I hate most *Warning spoiler* is how the character of Jacob imprints on Bella's daughter. It makes his love for Bella a waste of time and this was part of the reason the Twilight saga was so good. The story would have gone a bit better if he had imprinted on someone like Leah. I also found Bella annoying in this book, and sometimes found myself wanting to tell her to shut up.
Overall, a horrible read and I was so happy when I finished it. If you have only read the first three books, leave it at that as if you ... Read More:

Yet another volume in the steadily growing line of full colour EC Comics hardbacks. These six collected issues of Vault of Horror are from the early days of the title and are a bit hit and miss. Nevertheless, most stories herein still have a suitable creepy atmosphere and the traditional EC mix of cynicism and black comedy is evident. Classic pre-code horror comics.

Volume 2 of Essential Man-Thing continues the black and white reprints of the classic Marvel Comics series and as it includes stories from the highly sought after Giant-Size Man-Thing, then this volume is worth adding to a collection, especially if you own volume 1. The artwork continues to be stunning and loses nothing translated into black and white, and at such a low price through Amazon, both volumes come highly recommended.
The Man-Thing is Ted Sallis who spends his time wandering through the everglades but if someone should try to tackle him and show fear, then they are burned by his mystical touch. He crosses paths with such Marvel characters as Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four's rocky hero - Thing, Captain America and the Sorcerer Supreme - Doctor ... Read More:
