This book deserves much more than 1 star, yes it was not as good as the first but it was still a great read although I have to agree the first book was like the movie and this felt like the opening of the TV Series with much of the storyline being concentrated on long episodes of a single scenario. I feel the book could have been longe but this is maybe because I couldnt put it down. Can't wait for the third book. Bottom line this is by far one of the better Zombie books not far off World War Z.

I loved the early Anita Blake books, they had a plot, action, romance and humour, then came the sex. If it is as bad as it is written Anita deserves pity. I only bought this because one of the reviews said Edward was back, unfortunately we still have the rest of the men in Anita's life including the dreary nathaniel, he offered to leave if Anita could not satisfy his craving for domination - she should have leapt at the chance and the book would have been so much better. It is such a shame since we know from earlier books that Hamilton can write - back to Sookie Stackhouse for me.

A book with short stories is always nice. Here you get 4 stories for the price of one. And it's a good way to discover new authors. I had only read books from Kelley Armstrong and Kim Harrison and liked what they did, so this probably was gonna be good ! And it was. In "Undead in the Garden of Good and Evil" Kim Harrison describes Ivy's 'early days' when she's hooked on blood and passion, not the strong willed Ivy we got to know in the other books. She did come a long way... If you haven't read anuthing from Kim Harrison, maybe this is a good place to start, at the beginning... The main characters (Ivy and Kristen) also play a major rol in her other books. "The Claire Switch Project" by Lynsay Sands. This was a bit of a dissapointment ... Read More:

In the third instalment of the saga, Darren Shan is in the city with Evra and Mr Crepsley, and there are many mysteries. Mr Crepsley disappears every night, bodies are piling up, and Darren starts looking at girls in a twisting tale of horror and adrenaline. This is the best part of the saga so far, with faster writing, a more intense plot, with some great humour and growing up to. Shan changes his writing style with this novel, with more fast flowing action sequences, when in the previous two were broken up by unnecessary thoughts of the character, which adds up to a well written novel. This short story is beautifully written and atmospheric. The descriptions of the marsh and isolated island in all weathers are wonderful and the characterisations are excellent. My one criticism would be that it wasn't heartstoppingly chilling as advertised on the cover. Arthur Kipps is a young lawyer dispatched to attend the funeral of reclusive Alice Drablow. While visiting the isolated Eel Marsh House he is to put Mrs Drablow's affairs in order and then return to London. What appears to be a routine task turns out to be anything but; with repercussions that will affect the rest of his life. The villagers refuse to be drawn on the subject of Eel Marsh House or the mysterious woman dressed in black whom he first sees in the churchyard at the time ... Read More:

this is a block buster gore fest of a book with non stop action and charactors that you gringe for their suffering but cant wait to find out whats going to happen to them next! this is scotts third book but his first with a big time publisher, if your not sure that you want to buy this as scott is new then why not try his website (http://www.scottsigler.com)where he has everything he has done either in podcast form or even in pdf form (available for free!)then if you like it enough then you can buy a copy! no risk.i have and bought all three books. whats to lose? just beware the chickens scissors!!!
