In the third instalment of the saga, Darren Shan is in the city with Evra and Mr Crepsley, and there are many mysteries. Mr Crepsley disappears every night, bodies are piling up, and Darren starts looking at girls in a twisting tale of horror and adrenaline.

This is the best part of the saga so far, with faster writing, a more intense plot, with some great humour and growing up to.

Shan changes his writing style with this novel, with more fast flowing action sequences, when in the previous two were broken up by unnecessary thoughts of the character, which adds up to a well written novel.

This instalment is more action packed and twisted and horrific, with great action sequences involving Darren and Evra, ... Read More:

Northanger Abbey is not Jane Austen's best known or read work which is really a shame, because it is quite charming. I love the way, Austen's work are as relevant, entertaining, and thought-provoking now as when they were written in the beginning of the 19th century.

Northanger Abbey is the story of a would-be heroine, Catherine Morland, who accompanies the Allens to Bath. Here she is thrushed into a world, the likes of which she has only read about in novels. There are parties, drama, charming young men, and her new friends Isabella and Eleanor. And the intrigues: Catherine's brother is engaged to Isabella, and Isabella's brother fancies Catherine. Catherine on the other hand has affection for Henry Tilney of Northanger Abbey. Catherine ... Read More:

I read this book to my daughter when she was 2. At 6, she still loves it, as it doesn't "scare" her anymore. We bought the audio version and love when the Mother Cat says, "Shhh, my love." It's an annual tradtional reading for us!

I have only read two books by James Herbert. This and Haunted. While I felt Haunted was pretty slow it was still a good story. The Magic Cottage on the other hand was totaly pointless. This is one of the only books I've ever stopped reading about 50 pages from the end as I just couldn't force myself to read anymore. Please don't waste your money on this book.

This was my first Karen Moning book to read, and I found it extremely easy to get into. I think it was because it is narrated by the heroine (Mac), who, although initially gets plastered with a "Barbie" stereotype, was just a normal girl who happened to have an undiscovered gift. She also puts in her own bits of humor that keep the story from slipping into too much darkness/unhappiness. I found it nicely suspenseful with twinges of humor and a few nice "steamy" bits, which I hope continue on in the series. I've ordered "Bloodfever", the second in the series, and I can't wait to see how things play out for Mac, Jericho, and the Fae/Human worlds!

I loved this book, I am a new fan of the anita blake series and I have read the first 5 books now in a matter of weeks. I loved Guilty Pleasures as this really brings you into the world of Anita and the great characters in the series and just has you wanting for more. But this book was the scariest of them yet and times a little gross but thats what you want from a vampire slayer style book. I just love the main characters in this book and I also love the developing relationship with anita and Jean Claude. I have read reviews on here of the later books and people have said the sex takes over a bit but I am not there yet and to be honest I cant wait till she actually does the deed with Jean Claude as its building for the last 5 books. I am facinated with vampires and ... Read More:

180.Selected Tales (Oxford World's Classics) by: Edgar Allan Poe

Books : Selected Tales (Oxford World's Classics)
If you are drawn to surrealist work you will definitely enjoy this book. The stories have been written as a collection of gothic tales, but I found myself laughing at the tragedy of it all most of the time! Well written, warped literature.
