My son loved this book, and the minute he had finished it said, 'Can we get the rest?'
One cautionary note - it is quite dark in places, with some pretty gruesome imagery - probably why my son enjoyed it so much! - but I would say it's for twelves and up as it does deal with some serious moral questions.

This is a wonderful book. You simply MUST read it.
It's gripping, fast and emotional. The storyline is fantastic, and the characters seem so very real. It probably one of my favourite books of all time.
However, you may want to keep a box of hankies at close reach; the author is fairly merciless and isn't afraid to kill off his characters. Because of this, you really don't know what's going to happen. Unfortuanatly, I had the story spoiled so it didn't turn out as riviting as it would have been.
I would advise you read the previous books before starting this one, as they give you a greater insight into the story and characters, although a short summary of the story-so-far is present at the start of each book.
So, keep ... Read More:

You'll be needing the hankies for this one!
The action is fairly non-stop in these three books.
Darren meets a few old friends, and foes. Also, the dying begins! Quite a few characters pop their clogs in these books . . . .
As well as the all the action, there are many emotional moments and even a few funny ones!
Also, you begin to see what the heroes will need to sacarfise in order to 'save the world'.
If you liked the previous Darren books, then you'll love this!

When I read that Joss Whedon was collaborating with the Buffy comic people I jumped out of my seat. This is season 8 but in comic format, and boy is it good...I have just started reading "No Future for you" which is the second book collecting the next 5 or so issues. Buffy at war with more than just demons! Dawn has for some reason become a giant! Xander a general type of the slayer army! Willow can...well I havent given much away here and dont want to risk giving any more. Suffice to say that there are more than a few twists here including some old and terrible characters from the Buffyverse. Take it from me once you pick this book up you wont be putting it down until the very last page. Also Angel has a similar thing going on with a Season 6 comic ... Read More:

Dear Mr Koontz I am 34 yrs old and live in Liverpool. I probably won't live long enough to draw my state pension given that both my Grandparents died well before they hit 70 and the British Government have seen fit to extend the state pension age to 68. My point is I would really love to read Frankenstein 3 before I am dead not alive. Please have pity for I suffer.

Stephen King is one of the great story-tellers of the twentieth century, but he has always had difficulties with endings (think of the farce of the Stand, or the pathetic conclusion of It). It was with some trepidation, therefore, that I approached this final volume of the series. Before even starting it I thought I just hope he doesn't....But that was exactly what he did. The ending is the most predictacle and the weakest one imaginable. Please, if you have enjoyed the first six novels, don't read this one. It will just leave a bad taste in your mouth, and the feeling you have been wasting your time.

If you are drawn to surrealist work you will definitely enjoy this book. The stories have been written as a collection of gothic tales, but I found myself laughing at the tragedy of it all most of the time! Well written, warped literature.

This is my favourite series of books and Gunslinger is probably one of the books I re-read most. "The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed"....great opening! This book is a bit weird and different to the others in the series, but it still works well.

We get a great introduction to the enigmatic Gunslinger, Roland Deschain and his quest to catch the man in black and to find the Dark Tower. His world is a strange echo of ours, but it has 'moved on.' A strange mix of the old Wild West and a post apocalyptic future, where paper is rare and machinery is ancient, with its original purpose forgotten. Roland meets a boy called Jake, who appears to have died in our reality and somehow crossed over to this other world. They form a ... Read More:

My class and I read Coraline at school over the period of a few weeks, and after hearing all the hype about Gaiman's works I must admit, I was disappointed with Coraline.

The book starts out alright, a young girl in a huge scary house, with a door that appears to be uninteresting, but as the book progresses the whole thing becomes fast-paced and pointless.

We, as the readers, are forced to endure pointless conversations and long and boring descriptions of every little thing that Coraline goes through. There were many times where I got incredibly bored reading it, something which I wasn't expecting at all.

There are parts that are bone-chillingly creepy though, but more creepy in a slightly disturbing way than in a scary way. The Other ... Read More:
