Very interesting for someone new to the concept of emotional intelligence, especially parents or teachers. Almost all examples and studies are drawn from children (kindergarten or primary school age, mostly), and how their EQ can be observed and stimulated. However, the book of limited use to adults who want to understand the strengths and limitations of their own emotional intelligence, or how to improve it. I gather when this book first came out it was a groundbreaking work. Much research and writing has been done since then, so there are probably better choices for someone who wants to learn about emotional intelligence in adults.

I am a beginner when it comes to crystals and this book was a fantastic introduction for me, although I don't think it would be out of place in the expert's collection either. It is very clear and well set out with large colourful photos of each crystal. The crystals are in alphabetical order listing their healing attributes and the position of use. From what I could tell there seems to be a very wide collection of well known and rarer crystals listed. At the start of the book there is a section on crystal formation and crystal healing. I didn't think I could finish this book. It really effected me that so much evil could still exist in the name of a God that despises child abuse. The three sisters were very brave to allow this book to go to print and tell the truth. The sad thing is that I believe I met some of the group on a trip to Portugal many years ago, without realising the full extent of the cult's beliefs. I can still see the face of the small little girl who was performing for us...

This book was excellent in preparing me and helping me pass the PIRT. It gave me the cofidence I needed on the day and I would reccommend it to anyone thinking about applying for the police force. Go for it!

I read the book in about half an hour, the first few pages were relevant and interesting, but the rest of the book, read like a list. In chart format, a whole bunch of diseases were listed, next to each was a comment on what may have lead to each condition. A positive affirmation was given for each listing. I think the intention of the book, is for the reader to identify his/her condition and then regularly repeat the positive affirmation associated with it. We need to believe, the repeated use of the positive affirmation may help to reverse the disease process. I had high hopes for this book, The book itself isn't that long, a couple or 3 hours will finish it, Its full of visualisation exercises and a bit of psychology. The CD is about 30 mins long, I listened to it for 2 weeks and it was painful. I found myself getting bored each time about 10 mins in. He tells you to count down from 300, but when you reach 0 thats is, now what do I do?? Didn't work for me at all but may work for you

I normally don't leave comments and feedbacks for the books but I had to do it this time. This book is really fantastic position to read. Helped me so much. Methods to manage the time are so simple and very easy to implement. I would recommend this book to everyone.

I whole heartedly agree with the previous reviewers..this book too has profoundly changed my life ! I have read quite a few self help books but Katie I have found is the only one so far that puts things in a real simple and down to earth manner. Not some airy fairy spiritual thing...the only way really for people to gain clarity over their seemingly negative ways is to discover the truth for themselves and this she does so brilliantly. I found The Power Of Now life transforming, this goes even beyond that..for those who still don't quite "get it" with the likes of Tolle, Dwyer, Virtue and so many others, including Law of Attraction books, they should definately give this book a go. What can I say, I was a 30 a day man for 30 years read this book and have not touched a cig for 10 weeks now. I have the odd craving but they are easy to overcome. My advise is to buy it, read it and add a few years to your life.

I read this book for the first time in 1990 and it changed my life. I was one of those young people too focused on their problems (mainly: unrequited love, perhaps the biggest tragedy of them all at that age) to look at how many blessings they have, how many reasons to rejoice, at what a beautiful gift every day is. I can honestly say that I have never forgot the lesson and the new thinking sparkled by this book has slowly but surely changed my life for the best. Dale Carnegie has an unassuming, simple, candid way of writing which goes straight to your heart.
