(Edited after sitting AS Level examinations)
First of all, the claim that everything is explained through diagrams is slightly misleading. The diagrams are no more than mind maps, graphs, tables and sometimes just shaded-in boxes. Not what I would call "through diagrams".
This is an okay revision guide for AS and A2 Level Government & Politics on all exam boards. Recent and clear examples are used to back-up points, and the majority of the syllabus is covered - with some less important stuff being missed out.
However, most of the time this guide does not go into enough depth with certain points, and this is needed to secure high marks.
I would recommend you buy this product only if you use it alongside your own notes ... Read More:

I'll never see a political advert in the same light again; Professor Westen uses his experience in the field of clinical psychology to dissect how the campaign ad and the political speech affects the average Jane Winebox. Westen makes some important points relating to how elections can be won or lost on the language used in and delivery of these two mediums.

It's a compelling read, and a crucial one at that - given the impending US elections. Even if you're not usually one for political non-fiction, I would recommend you give this book a go.

Please can every person in the world ensure that they read this book from cover to cover and then read it again, and again. Thank God that I am not
the only person to have got utterly fed up with the false science and outright lies of the environ-mental brigade. It was high time someone was brave enough to expose the lies falsehoods and deciets of modern day greens. Trouble is we have been dumbing down for too long and now the average person believes or at least is concerned by what the alarmists preach. Unfortunately the media are driven by this agenda and you can no longer turn on the news without hearing someone harping on about being CO2
nuetral lest we damage our planet! Somewhere in the recent past schools, politicians and colleges ... Read More:

This book is fantastic. When most text books are complex, this puts it in easy words so you can understand it. However it is also good because it isn't to simple so that way the language used can be used in an essay and still look good. This perfectly explains how government, parties, voting patterns and more and how each works in various countries.

I am a layman in politics and am not studying for any examinations but I bought this book as well as the Oxford Dictionary of Politics and the Oxford Companion to Twentieth Century British Politics for reference purposes.

I read several chapters and found the style so good that I ended up reading it from cover to cover.

Huge chunks of it didn't teach me much more than I already learned either from reading quality weekly magazines and daily newspapers or from overlaps with other subjects that I had previously read quite a lot of e.g.economics, history, philosophy and sociology.

Nevertheless, I found it an enjoyable and worthwhile overview of the landscape.
