My 22 month old daughter loves the Spot books...but this one is not the best. The pictures (unusually for the Spot books) are very crowded and it is hard to make out the items to be counted on each page. For example, the page with 5 pigs looks like a mass of pink snouts and ears and it is very hard to work out exactly how many there are! Sounds ridiculous, but if the pics were simplified, I think children would find it more appealing. This is the Spot book my daughter asks for the least. Try Spot goes on holiday, Spot bakes a cake, Spot loves his Dad instead.

Thought the book looked a bit bulky at first but open it up and the most incredable tornado springs out of the first page, each page has a wonderful centre piece pop up. and every page of the book (which are smaller pages either side of the main popup) has some kind of smaller pop up. some of the things that emerge out of the book, such as the hot air balloon, are pretty impressive, and they all fold away very well. very good book.. got it as a present for my daughter but had to stop myself playing with it in case i wore it out.

This is a Charlie & Lola classic and it's as much fun for parents as it is for the child(ren). The pop-ups aren't just one type: you pull levers, open big 'doors', there's wheels that change (to tell you what Lola never eats). It's not just about reading the story, you can get involved/interact with the story too. As Lola would say: "It is my favourite and best!"
