This book was very helpful in the coruse im doing it covered the whole of the first year, hopefully some of the second year aswell.

I have found this textbook really helpful in my studies. The full audio version on the CDROM, is great for remembering all the muscles and other difficult body parts all my class mates struggled on. I would say if you are studying Anatomy and Physiology as part of your course, get this book.

Looking at this book is so thought provoking and inpsiring. I could look at it for hours.

A standard work often provided in starter kits and it covers the basics in a simple easy to read fashion. Katie Thear is an experienced keeper and she includes some useful tips she's picked up from her own experiences. However I find the subject poorly researched and the information rather sketchy in places and lacking in consistency. It's rather like she has written it just from her own knowledge and experiences only. Some areas she dwells on in uneccessary detail for beginners needs while others which need a more detailed explaination are just skimmed over. There's also some uneccessary padding with brief chapters on showing and breeding which aren't of much interest to beginners and don't contain enough detail to enable anyone to get ... Read More:

I bought this book as I am studying complimentary therapies and anatomy and physiology is a big component. My intention was for it to be as an extra study aid but I think that I would have preferred something that offered a little more. The book is okay and does what it says. If you are studying the muscular system and you need to know a large amount of inofrmation, look for something else.

I hate self help books, but this is completely different. It changed my life, recognising the thought processes at the start of the book was like someone switching on a light. I hate those self help books which analyse why you do this that or the other, but this was totally different, focused, direct, and to the point. Doesn't dwell on why you are depressed etc, but tackles it with written exercises. Cannot recommend it enough, it is a FANTASTIC, LIFE CHANGING book

This is the second time I have bought this book. I lent it to a friend and never got it back. I have found it invaluable for my MSc and my friend found it a great help for her BSc (obviously!). I highly recommend it to anyone who needs to be able to critically appraise medical literature.
