My first impressions of the book had me thinking that I was about to start reading a book that was going to be perhaps a bore. The type of book you read when you have little else to do and know that reading it would get it off the 'to-do' list. I'm glad I was wrong about 'Dibs'.

After reading the first few pages I knew that is was going to be one of 'those books'. The type of book that turns out to be an absolute gem when you originally thought it was going to be rubbish: a book that delivers so many things on so many levels and yet does it in a subtle, touching way. Like another reviewer put, I believe that 'Dibs' will certainly stay with me for many years to come because of the power that the tale, in itself, has. There ... Read More:

These cards contain clear images on one side with arrows and numbers pointing at muscles / nerves / bones ect. The answers are then on the back so you can test yourself. They probably will not cover enough detail for most courses so you'll need you textbook as well. The website you can access with them is good as it is pretty much a digital version of the cards and probably easier as you can reveal answers one at a time. On the cards you sometimes can't help looking at the next answer which can be annoying and defeats the purpose of the cards!

This book is definately makes you think.

After reading One Child, you can't help feeling completely saddened by whas has happened to Sheila but also there is a sense of a happy ending to this book.

Tiger's Child totally opens your eyes to the reality. Its easy to think that Sheila's life will naturally improve just because she has seen happier times, but this book shows how in some ways, the help she had was not necessarily all that was needed. I am glad however that Sheila has managed to become her own person and lead a contented life.

If only we had more people that were able to help the way Torey Hayden can!

Torey Hayden receives another child for her already full "Crazies" class. Children in her class are those which can't be placed elsewhere. Sheila comes from the migrant camp, she'd been abandonned by mother by the side of a highway. Torey works hard to reach into the troubled six year old, gain her trust and educate her. A difficult journey for both teacher and child but one that would leave all but the hardest of hearts unmoved.

There's no doubt that this very good solution to improve your knowledge in histology. The text is simple, clear and doesn't go too much in details. The pictures are amazingly clear but at many places there coud have been better labels. This book presumes, especially in later chapters, that you know the previous stuff well, so many things that are mentioned in text are not indicated in pictures and you have to find them yourself.

I was hugely disappointed with this book - particularly with the photography of the finished dishes - it's redolent of the quality you'd find in a 1970's cookbook - the food looks totally unappetising.

I love cookery books and looked forward to this arriving but can honestly say I'll be lucky to use 2-3 recipes if that. Uninspiring with an over reliance on a few ingredients.

Sorry, but wouldn't recommend this to anyone who really enjoys cooking.
