I was recommended this book by a colleague who has just completed her NVQ3, and had used the previous edition. I am now about one third of the way through my NVQ and thus far this book has been invaluable. It is clearly written, with lots of practical advice tips and links to help you gain the information you need. The portfolio activities are stimulating and make you seriously consider WHY you do what you do, and WHAT you could do to improve your performance. I am only too pleased to recommend this book highly!

I never thought I'd enjoy a book about human waste - but this book has proven that a good author can tell a fascinating story about anything. I think Rose George is very brave for addressing a very unsexy subject -- and the facts are powerful: what good is clean drinking water if 2.6 billion people in this world live in contaminated environments due to their own lack of toilets? This is thought-provoking stuff which - if taken seriously and acted upon - could change the lives of billions...

I attended a training session for this programme through my local Dyslexia Action Group and was so impressed I bought the book immediately. You do not need the training session - this manual takes the parent/teacher through the programme in tiny manageable steps (hence the title). It really works and is aimed at any age pupil. The results are amazing and FAST. I would recommend it to anyone!

I guess I'm one of those people that likes to understand the how and why of everything I do. Therefore, whenever I workout, I find myself wondering about the purpose of each particular exercise. Am I actually working, strengthen, or stretching my muscles in a way that is beneficial to my body or am I just wasting my time? Am I doing the exercises correctly or am I setting myself up for an injury? Perhaps that's why I love the Anatomy series from Human Kinetics. They have a number of different books that take a deeper look at Stretch Training, Stretching, and Yoga exercises. Whilst generally a reasonable book, there are a considerable number of errors. These include referencing incorrect tables and regulation numbers, and a number of simple typographical errors, e.g. stating that the minimum diameter for the main protective bonding conductor should be 60mm sq, rather than 6. Whilst the more experienced will instantly spot these errors, they could lead to confusion to the novice, who, after all, the book is aimed at. One particular area of concern is in the Inspection and Testing section where, in the process of determining R1+R2, the reader is advised to temporarily link together the line conductor and the CPC. Embarrassingly I found the questions devilishly difficult, it was great fun trying to answer them and I tested my boyfriend too. A great alternative to board games for some after dinner entertainment!

This book is easy to read and a very good overview of PRINCE2. At the price, it is very good value as well.

This is a very interesting book, and certainly succeeds in providing a good introduction to the wonders of the human body. The previous reviewers on here seemed to love this book, and while I found it a good read, I would like to mention a few minor annoyances that prevented it from earning a top rating from me. Firstly: anatomy books need to have a lot of pictures or diagrams. While this book does have some, I felt that there weren't nearly enough. More often that not, the uninitiated reader is given a text description, and left to draw a picture in their head (or look it up somewhere else). Secondly, the book has far, far too many cross references, in the form of text in brackets referring the reader to an earlier/later ... Read More:

I bought this book in my first year of nursing,and i am currently in my third year and it still comes in incredibly handy!!! Its basic layman's terms and bright images, make the most complicated anatomy subjects plain, simple and easy to remember! It takes every part of the body and brakes it down! Its great for interest and for learning! If you just want to make a quick reference to something it comes in great!! I urge all nursing students to pick one up, as it contains simple explanations to the questions you may feel embarrased to ask!!! Dont waste your money on books you'll never use again, spend it wisely and for £9.99, its a BARGAIN!!! BRILLIANT!
