Murder in the Vatican: The Revolutionary Life of John Paul and The CIA, Opus Dei and the 1978 Murders

In 1984, David Yallop's `In God's Name' did a riveting job in proving this Pope was murdered. In fact, no one is going to walk away from this book without the firm conviction this man was murdered. Nevertheless, through the years, Yallop's best seller has ignited a mass of `papal murder' literature, most of which like Paul Williams' `The Vatican Exposed' adhere to Yallop's convincing hypothesis John Paul was murdered because of his involvement in the Vatican Bank. There are a few like `A Thief in the Night' by John Cornwell which try unsuccessfully to prove Yallop wrong - that this Pope died a natural death. It is a tall order ... Read More:

"If you're talking about innovation and you want to explore that WOW factor, why not put a WOW card on every seat for the audience to wave whenever they feel a WOW moment" ..... ARE YOU SERIOUS? ... Who is he presenting to children or the mentally challenged or what?? Am I the only one who thinks that would be hilarious to watch? This is the sort of cringe-moment that spoils this book (and trust me there are plenty of them).
However, the book does have SOME useful information, if you can get past the pompous style of the author who seems to think that using big words to explain simple concepts makes him sound more intelligent, despite the fact the he advises clarity over complexity as a key part of good presentations.
I found this book quite ... Read More:

I haven't finished it yet, but this book is excellent for someone new to quantitative finance. It assumes no previous knowledge of finance, and attempts to use only the minimum maths required. The pace is excellent, with many new terms introduced each page without seeming overwhelming. I rarely have to go back an re-read sections, Wilmott seems to get it just right.
One downside is that I never got the accompanying CD that is referenced frequently in the book. However, Wiley the publisher will dispatch one to you if you request one.

Gujarati's Book is much better and it's structure and style is closer to introductory studies than this book. I just looked at it once and then i followed Gujarati's one. The only advantage of the book might be its price.
Nothing special, all at all a simple book for econometrcis.... I think there are lot of better alternative options.

Thank u

Badly recorded. Little time between subjects. The descriptions of techniques are of little use without some sort of visual representation. My advice would be to produce a small accompanying booklet. Failing that, don't waste your money.

If you are serious about creating a trend following method then don't buy this book. The text demonstrates that Covel is a salesman, not a trader. His business model is based on making money by selling the idea of trend following. He is not trading with trend following himself -- rather writing hagiographies about trend followers without revealing any details -- giving generalized statements instead... The content is simplistic and basically garnered from other books on trading (e.g. Market Wizards). Note his annoying and frequent self-marketing references to his websites. After reading this you will be equipped to talk about trend following at dinner parties, but that's about it...

I recommend Perry Kaufman's books if you are a serious student attempting to ... Read More:

Good to read to have a long-term perspective. I wish the authors dedicated more effort to explaining what causes bubbles, after all, brains of such great universities are involved (MIT, Chicago...)
