At first i thought this book was for the professionals, having bought it and read/used it i now realise that it is. This book can help you to become a professional site manager. Despite knowing very little about site management techniques this book helped me to manage an £800k project that was finished on time und £45k under budget. A must buy for anyone considering large self build projects.

I have been working my way through this book for some days now. It is well-written & concise for everything it covers, yet I don't often find myself mystified by something not explained well enough. Note that the technologies covered by the book aren't limited to Mule and Servicemix, but include a long list of related technologies. The book uses Spring a good deal and also covers Servicemix EIB, Apache CFX, Camel, Synapse, ActiveMQ, and ODE as well. If you put in the time and effort you should come away with a pretty thorough grounding on how two major open source integration frameworks handle every common problem encountered in modern integration work. I like this book! The best thing about the book for me is that the author does take you on a journey of design discovery using TDD techniques. Rather than showing you "the only true solution" the author formulates a design then critiques it with the reader, refactors it, and moves on. This approach allows you to really see and understand the refactorings. The writing is passionate, informed and the dialog with the reader enhances understanding. I'm a Java guy but found the C#/.Net stuff sample code clearly understandable. He also uses NUnit (for TDD) and NHibernate (O/R mapping). I'm used to JUnit and Hibernate so no probs there either. If you've been around the block a few times, this book will appeal to you.
