I really loved this book.. It is easy to follow as it is written in very simple english unlike some other writers here i have to take my dictionary out. I guess it has changed the way i think about life. I have now started reading "I can make you Rich" by Paul Mckenna and it seems to be another fantastic book. I simply loved it.

This is a great book, nice print and easy to read. I was desperate to help my son who gets angry and frustrated quite alot. He is autistic and has speech and language problems and it was distressing to see him so angry. This book has helped alot.

Quite simply one of the best books i have personally ever read in my 27 years. No amount of views good book reviews could do this book justice, the only thing that could would be if you gave this book to everyone as soon as they learnt to read. The Dalai Lama's is quite a special person who despite everything he has been though in Tibet still has so much warmth and compassion. This book is a simple read yet within it's pages contains so much knowledge and wisdom that if all of us on the planet put into practice the world would be a very different place indeed. Stop reading this review and go and get hold of a copy of this book in anyway you can and simply, enjoy!

I have read a number of books in the overcoming series and they were all helpful. This book addresses depression in a kind, understanding and compassionate way. It looks at things that I never understood about depression, such as issues around perfectionism and anger. I was recommended to the overcoming books by a friend ... I could honestly say they have been a lifesaver in difficult times and I wouldn't hesitate in passing on that recommendation.

All relationships and the people involved in those relationships are different. Instead of following a set of 'rules' as this book sets out it is far better to learn to be yourself in any given situation. I would recommend Make every man want you by Marie Forleo. Marie throws all rules out of the window and encourages women to be a better and more authentic version of themselves which I think is far more attractive than trying to be something you are not.

This book has helped immensely when writing essays for uni. My course is 'Education, Culture & Society', and this book blends the 3 elements perfectly! Good evidence referred to throughout, as well as references to clear and varied opinions.

I usually don't like books about how psychology as I find that they too often put people into boxes. Having said that I found this a book really good read and it helped me think more about the affect of my actions on my husband and how he responds to me and also what my hopes and expectations are and how to communicate them. A book can't ever cover everything but I found this insightful, constructive and applicable. A lesson in life and love that I won't forget.

a really easy to read but challenging and practical book. very concise and informative and also very user friendy. thoroughly recommended.

'This Is Your Brain On Music' looks at the neuroscience behind listening to and performing music. Although I've read many popular science books and am familiar with the style of writing, I found this to be quite a hard going book at first. The first couple of chapters look at the structure of music and are quite dry to plow though. If you know music theory this will cover familiar ground and if you don't I'm sorry to say that this is a laboured way of gaining that understanding. However after you get through these chapters this books really comes into it's own, with lots of fascinating experiments and facts it starts to pique your interest and you become more engrossed in the points being made. I started reading this book after having read "Men are from Mars..." by John Gray. First few chapters appealed to me, following the first 3 chapters the more I read the more generalised it became, obviously I know these types of books are aimed for the majority, however this book became increasingly vague towards the end and I lost interest. Worth a look but nowhere near as good as John Gray books.
