This book is simply boring ! Got nothing from this book and can't see why it has got such a good reviews. I purchased based on the rating and was so disappointed - basically says think big, almost no case studies or interesting facts, says nothing of any interest and it a total bore - do not buy !

Actually when i first opened it, i found it fascinating. The ideas behind it are great (even though it doesn't always work for everything) but soon it goes on and on, round and round the same thing. It's not a big book already, i think it should be even shorter and to the point and could tell a bit about the controversial issues that it takes to: STOP THINKING ABOUT EVERYTHING... Still, i think it's a great book!

I think this is a good introduction into the concept of affluenza. I think Oliver James' makes good points, especially in childcare and the lack of parenting and just sending children to nurseries at a very young age. I'm not bothered by the structure...i think some people just need to read something, and stop being so nitpicking. If you dont like it...you dont like it...but it doesn't take away from the concept of Affluenza. Hopefully this will get people into thinking about their life and get them to change aspects of their life.

Somehow I identified with all of the life-traps and so therapy beckons? The more I read the more any optimism I'd held began to evapourate. Hopefully though anyone who wishes to adopt the steps to change their lives has fewer schemas than I, even with one life-trap it would take grinding hard work to escape from it. However, nothing worthwhile came easy, so keep expectations low and success will come your way. An interesting view into our behaviours and their origins.

I agree with other reviewers: this book is worth your money. The four agreements go like this: Be Impeccable with Your Word; Don't Take Things Personally; Don't Make Assumptions; and Always Do Your Best. I read it again once I'd finished it because the four agreements can change one's life for the better. I've already noticed benefits in my daily life and in my relationships (especially the one with myself.) The author writes in a very simple way (no literary intentions here); and what he says and shares regarding each agreement makes all his messages sink in. This book will become a literary-sleeper (if it's not the case already), just like The Road Less Travelled by S. Peck.

I have to admit that this book was sitting on my bookshelf for a while before I started reading it. In fact, I think it was about three years (I hadn't heard of the book's reputation, and so wasn't aware that I shouldn't have been intimidated). Once I got going, however, it was immensely enjoyable. The book covers a wide range of topics (number theory, art, consciousness and so on...), all of which are beautifully intertwined, as the title suggests. Some of the maths is pretty heavy going, I can't claim to have fully understood it on a single read, and I didn't do as the book suggested and worked through some of the examples (which would undoubtedly have made later ideas easier to understand), but even so, there is so much else in the book that it really doesn't matter. I was very dissappointed with this cd, considering the good reports from the book (which i have not read) i was quite excited when i got the cd home and was looking forwards to listening too it. But my excitement soon turned to disbelieve though as i attempted to get "into it" i just couldn't beleive how boring it was, both stephen covey's voice (as someone else has already pointed out!) and the layout of the information presented on the cd, which i actually thought at times came across as quite patronising and utter rubbish! it reminded me of one of my university lecturers who's lesson we all used to fall to sleep in! and like a badly put together presentation (as someone else has also pointed out) and not a motivational tool for improvement, it just seemed never ending and drowned on and on! i didn't ...
