I have to say i am extremely impressed with this book, unlike other memory books it summarises every essential memory technique into a quick, easy read manual, u may even say it cuts the crap and gets down to it! after doing some of the exercises i was literally like, "WOW"

aside from the advanced domonqiue technique which may take a few hours to complete (still working on it), the main bulk of the book can be read and the tasks completed within around 4 hours, like a previous reviewer said, some of the techniques are just re-itterated to make up numbers so there is 52 techniques to fill the year! but apart from that it is truely an awsome book.

it is insane how such a simple method can improve your memory so much ... Read More:

This sends out a message of hope for the long suffering. This a carefully crafted piece, and very moving at times with the profound message of effortless manifestation of one's desires. Esther has built her career around her teachings, and what is imparted from here proves she is up there with the best of them. Although a lifelong fan of Esther, I would not just write a good review for the sake of it. What lies ahead in the future, no one knows. This book, though, allows you to able to change direction in life and to have some control over your destiny by implementing change through generating positive feelings. Well done, Esther and Jerry.

I have had this book approx 2 years and it one of the most significant books that i own and has made a difference to my life.

Jon Kabat Zinn writes beautifully and with inspiration, the book is in accessible chapters. I personally prefer to read a chapter and then put the book down to establish and reflect on what I have learned. It is quite a lengthy book, but for me it was well worth the effort to read it all and I have certainly benefitted from the practice of meditation and yoga which are now an established practice in my life.

I particularly benefitted from learning about the breath and simply 'being' rather than 'doing' as I was often in a rush and under pressure and stress, now I am finally learning to slow things ... Read More:

'Blink' is, as many others have said, an anecdotal, absorbing book on the premise of just how powerful gut instincts can be. It's not an in-depth analysis or criticism of theory, but as I picked it up that wasn't what I was looking for anyway. As a Psychology student, I read it outside of my course for enjoyment and not only does it give grounding to such an interest (i.e. a friend in her 3rd year of Psychology is using 'thin-slicing' in her project, and I lent her this book to help her understand it fully!) but is also one of those books that stays with you. It affects how you think about certain decisions and a greater understanding of your own mind. What more could you want from it?

The Wild Woman's archetype manifestation is an endangered aspect in our psyche. The chauvinistic/psychopathic societies we live in, are designed to strangle this feminine aspect as to deprive women from their instinctual nature to resist, to fight back and to overcome. Women are to be kept subservient. But despite the predators from outside, a woman's worst predator is that of her inner landscape, born of the suppression from outside.

And that is why Estes book is of vital importance to each and every woman on this planet: through excellent writing, the use of stories and a profound insight into the feminine realm, she offers us the means and ways to understand the inner and outer restrictions on our instinctual selfs, and a map out to freedom, the ... 89.Man's Search for Meaning by: Viktor E. Frankl

Books : Man's Search for Meaning
What gives this book a very distinguished credibility and authenticity is the pertinent fact that the author formulated his ideas while as a Holocaust prisoner. Immediately the reader is taken out of the comfort zone as the captive and dehumanising realities of such a barbaric context are presented.

Frankl looks very very deeply at what provides human strength to get over the most forlorn, hopeless and torturing circumstances. Nietzche's dictum "What doesn't kill us only make us stronger?" planted itself in my mind throughout this book and just did not move.

It's very difficult to find any sort of fault with any story where humanity can triumph inhumanity, it really is. There's just such a sense of sadness and misery that the fact that someone ... Read More:

this book was recommended to me by my Criminology module tutor on my law degree course. I have found it helpful, and there is much detail, yet at the same time it is readable. Probably the most helpful textbook on Criminology for degree level that you will find.
