Received the book yesterday and my husband (who's an architect), hasn't been able to put it down. He thinks it's brilliant, informative and concise, he's using it now for work he's doing. Would recommend it to any student or Architect who needs reference in an easy to read format.

We are planning a fly-drive trip to the USA and we have been looking for information/things to do in places.We initially looked at the Foders books but then stumbled across this book. What a fantastic informative book, the only problem with having this book is we need to book a longer holiday !!! It is excellent value for money and a must have for fly-drive touring of the USA.

I'm a writer, and when I'm stuck for a line or witty retort, I have to admit that I have occasionally nicked the odd quote from this weighty work. It really is excellent value for money with hundreds of humourous lines that you can 'borrow' for dinner parties, speeches etc., or simply to amuse yourself. Highly recommended.

This is without a doubt the best atlas available. I have other atlases from other publishers but they come nowhere near the Times Atlas for detail. This one has not only large maps showing the big places but also has the detail that you would expect from a map that covers a smaller area showing you the smallest towns. If I want to look up a place this is the first reference I turn to. It says 'Comprehensive Atlas of the World' on the cover and that is exactly what it is.

really enjoyed this account of a fascinating individual. His sheer guts and determination is matched only by that of his wife who clearly supported him through the most difficult period of his life. It brings 'the hamster' into the heart of the reader. Fran B

This book is over 2100 pages long and includes some appendices such as a small guide to good English and lists of such things as countries of the world and British Prime Minsters. The combination of pronunciation, definitions and word derivation is more than sufficient for my needs and probably for most other people's too except for those engaged in specialist linguistic or literary studies.

This calender is based on the series of books that have many hundreds of pictures of imaginative little rabbits trying kill themselves. The books were hilarious, and while the calender obviously does not feature as many pictures, it is a great novelty item. Perhaps this is not the calender I'll put up at work though.
