This calender is based on the series of books that have many hundreds of pictures of imaginative little rabbits trying kill themselves. The books were hilarious, and while the calender obviously does not feature as many pictures, it is a great novelty item. Perhaps this is not the calender I'll put up at work though.

The chart is very clear and really detailed, brilliant value for the price. However, my one criticism is that there is so much info packed onto this poster that it is sometimes not 100% clear. Brilliant for learning the names of muscles but not so good if you need to see specific sites of attatchment etc. If they'd spread the info over 2, or even 4, posters I would happily have bought them all, and having subsequently seen how brilliant the Chartex posters are I am a little disappointed. If you're short of wall space this is a perfect solution but for more detail go for the Chartex posters.

I didn't get along with this book at all, it wastes so much time on what a bike is, and then not enough time or pictures explaining the important maintenance aspects. I own a disc brake mtb and found this book of no use in understanding how the brakes work, and how to adjust them.

200+ pages on the USA, 2 pages on Sri Lanka. Lots of expensive 5 star hotels, resorts and expensive paradises that are fine if you're an ageing, moneyed American but do not even begin to scratch the surface of the country you are in. If you are rolling in dollars and travel first class from Four Seasons to Four Seasons, buy this book. Otherwise there are a hundred other books out there that are better to inspire you.

I was bought this book when I had my first child by a friend and it was both reassuring and very funny. It made me laugh out loud when I was feeling fed up or worried. I have told all my first time mum friends to buy it. Entertaining, easy to read and informative - great book for anyone who is unsure of what to expect and needs a non preaching read to cheer them up.

Sequels aren't meant to be as good as the original, are they, but having enjoyed David Long's SPECTACULAR VERNACULAR last year I had to have this one, and I'm not disappointed. Far from it. In fact for anyone bored with all those London books which just go over the same old ground again (Tower of London, yawn) these two books have been a revelation to me. Packed full of places and buildings most of us don't even notice, and with every one photographed and explored by an author with a real talent for the subject, they're original, funny, and above all fascinating in terms of the detail, the history and the personalities they describe and which together make London what it is today.

Dave Gorman writes an entertaining, intriguing travelogue about his trip from "sea to shining sea". Although some of it does have a familiar feel, the quirky observations and careful construction (with a good deal of jumping back and forth between key moments) help maintain the narrative. He's impressively non-judgemental and doesn't hammer his central (and, arguably, somewhat shaky) concept of avoiding chain motels and gas stations too hard. And for anyone who says "I could have written that" - hey, go and try doing the trip, and writing about it. It's harder than you'd think. Pro: enjoyable, non-taxing read. Con: few revelations.

I was looking for a good all round sewing reference book with ideas of things to make for the home. This book has only a handful of home accessories - none of which i would want to make. The majority of the book is clothing which i found to be very dated styles. It does cover all the different sewing techniques though which is the only good thing.
