This book was absolutly fantastic!! I stumbled across Stephenie Meyer's Twilight on sale in a local supermarket, after reading the first chapter I was hooked! I rushed around to find New Moon and then waited for Eclipse full of excitment. The wait for Breaking Dawn was a tough one but very worth it, this book did not let me down. It was beautiful and I wanted to be every part of it. In 3 days I finished Breaking Dawn and however much I am kicking myself for that now, I am looking forward to reading it all over again!! Stephenie Meyer not only knew how to capture my attention and hold it there but drew me into a world that I could not forget about through out my day to day life. I am in my late 20's and have / would recommend the 4 books to any ... Read More:

Unlike the other reviewers, I thought that Eclipse was the best in the series so far. (It is the third in a set of four). The love triangle between Bella, Edward and Jacob was so sad and frustrating because we all know that she made the foolish choice in the end but the chemistry between her and her "choice" was so electric, you cant condemn her for it.

What woud you choose? A vampire or a werewolf? hmmmmm difficult choice....

I thoroughly enjoyed the action in this book and found every page an enthralling read. The emotional scenes between Bella and Edward left me with a spine tingling sensation but the one between Bella and Jacob just made me sad.

The characters were really good, the plot was excellant but I would ... Read More:

Another great installment from the horror master Darren Shan. Most of the action takes place on Wolf Island as the title suggests but moves the story on in terms of the genesis of the main character Grubbs Grady. Its fast paced and grisly but fun at the same time. It sets up nicely for the finale next year - I can't wait to see how all the loose ends tie up.

After reading Twilight, I found myself completely obsessed with Edward, so when I heard that Edward wasn't in New Moon much, I was quite upset. But I read New Moon anyway, unable to resist, and actually found myself really enjoying it, even though Edward was missing from its pages. I liked getting to know and like Bella more, and was especially fond of Jacob, who is really sweet, warm and likable. I also discovered that it cured my "Edward bug" considerably, which I was glad of (though of course I still love him). I was very happy that I read it.

The 2nd volume of the void trilogy continues the saga started in last years "The Dreaming Void". As before this, is a complex multi-threaded narrative combining the machinations and intregue of the Commonwealth factions and their stooges with the ongoing story of the Waterwalker inside the void itself. As the book progresses both the capabilties of the void and the threat posed by it become clearer leading to the final positioning of the characters before the concluding volume.

I can't rate this book highly enough, though I found that in contrast with the last volume, the waterwalker's narrative strand was somewhat more engaging that the wider positioning strands outside the void. I can't wait for the final volume, this is a superb space opera and really ... Read More:

Loved the first, was amazed by the second, and I had to take three days holiday to read the last! To say it's un-put-downable is, for once, no exaggeration.

This is a great book, I now have three of Rachel's books and this is by far my favourite. In response to the previous review, this book does have some casseroles (lemon and garlic chicken), maybe not all in the traditional slow cooked meat and veg sense but there are other great baked meals such as sausage and bean bake, cottage pie, lasagne and mediterranean pasta bake. I think it was a bit unfair to give the book 1 star based on the fact that it has no casseroles, especially as quite obviously that is not what the book is solely about. For casseroles and stews I would recommend Sophie Conran's Soups and Stews

There are a wide variety of baked goodies in this book; tarts, pies, quiches, breads, cakes, biscuits and also jams. There is also a glossary and a ... Read More:

This is a book that you read slowly.

And slowly you are drawn in and understand the magnitude of what really is happening.

i often forgot who was narrating the book... eeryyyyy

Dont breeze through this book, take your time, let it sink in and it will be a fabulous experience.

I especially liked the way those BOLD letters appear... sumarises so much and helps understand even more.

Like most readers who have reviewed this - I loved The House at Riverton and couldn't wait to read Forgotten Garden. My oh my - was she paid by the page? I found that it was really drawn out - too descriptive for my tastes (I like to use my imagination and don't want the author to explain what a tree looks like - thanks!) The writing wasn't up to the same standard and I had "guessed" the answer to the "mystery" well before the end. I also found the constant hopping around from London, Brisbane, Cornwall, 1907, 1913, 1975, 2005 (where are we now?) confusing and unnecessary. Being a pedant, it also annoyed me when Cassandra said she was looking through her "grandmother's scrapbooks" (Rose's) when actually Nell was her grandmother and Rose was her GREAT grandmother - at least that's ...
