I recently purchased this book. It was great except for one thing. Hancock totally ignores Western Tradition. We also have Shamans, mainly Celtic ones like John Matthews who does not rely on drugs. Also it is surprising that Hancock's visions were the same as the ones of his hosts. Normally it is impossible to access the otherworld of another tradition. He should have seen the symbols of Celtic/Norse tradition. He also ignores the fact that modern that modern day Wiccans still work with the Sidhe (fairy folk). They have not just turned into grey aliens. He would be advised to read 'The Song of Taliesin' and read the chapters 'Journey to the Summer Stars' and 'Defence of the Chair' then see if he comes to the same conclusions.

I think this diet is absolutly amazing.. I suffer with PCOS and have always had trouble with my weight. When I discovered this I managed to lose 6 stone in 8 months....I'm still big and continuing to lose weight...but it makes you so confident...doesn't make you hungry...gives you so much energy..you can eat as much as you want...its just truely amazing... I've never suffered any health problems...my blood pressure is back to normal and I just cant believe how much this diets improved my ways of life.. I've never tried any other diet after this one... 5 stars to Atkins..

The pamphlet is well written and illustrated. Good for sharing with a young child. However, it was not very useful to me. The analogy is misleading and obviously based on an 'afterlife'. May appeal to some but not for those looking for a more straightforward, rational approach.

We should salute the (now) 89 -year-old author, James Ephraim Lovelock (Ephraim is Hebrew for fruitful): an independent, dissenting voice in science. Rebelling against reductionist philosophies, he took an inclusive, systems view of the planet, publishing his Gaia Hypothesis in 1970. It took over 30 years for the international scientific community to come round. Having studied chemistry at Manchester U and received his PhD in medicine at London U, Lovelock was engaged in the 1960s by NASA to find ways to detect life on Mars. He realized that life would influence the atmosphere and designed an instrument to detect trace gases. Having completed a Reiki 1 course, I decied to try and find a useful book. There were way too many - which were way to complex, or airy fairy!!! ... but I happend to find this one. Its useful, clear and easy to follow. Plus its very clever in its simplicity or technique. No 70's style drawings... no naff bits that put me off. Even my 'Reiki master' friend wanted to borrow it when she saw my copy... of course.. I said 'get yer own'...ho!ho! But i recomend this highly. Plus the techniques work for a reiki practitioner. One to refer to again and again.

If you think you know what love is then you better read this book because it will so prove you wrong. Love has nothing to do what you THINK... it is an experience, a dissolving of illusions and attachments. People will not know how to love until they read this... I just hope it gets into the hands of every person on this planet, as we are all deserving of true love, and true happiness. Beautiful book, it's pocket sized too which is just perfect. D.

A word of caution about the Author, he believes Genesis is historically accurate & that the Devil is real. I can't deny this book offers great insight into understanding scripture & makes some very good observations, but I found I had to skip anything which seeks to challenge science on. I admit I come from a perspective that scripture is largely each authors attempt to comprehend God's creation & similar to Classical Islam that everything new science reveals inhances my wonder at the universe which God has given us.
