Despite one of the other reviews I found this book extremely easy to get into. Yes, I haven't finished it yet after getting it shortly after its release but this is down to taking it slow, savouring the messages and following the exercises. What will this book do for you? No idea. Thats up to you. For me its been a transforming experience from the first time I picked it up, its almost been like a warm hug through some very difficult weeks. It arrived in my life as a two year relationship was breaking down and my job had become unbearable. I think this diet is absolutly amazing.. I suffer with PCOS and have always had trouble with my weight. When I discovered this I managed to lose 6 stone in 8 months....I'm still big and continuing to lose weight...but it makes you so confident...doesn't make you hungry...gives you so much energy..you can eat as much as you want...its just truely amazing... I've never suffered any health problems...my blood pressure is back to normal and I just cant believe how much this diets improved my ways of life.. I've never tried any other diet after this one... 5 stars to Atkins..

Its a pity the highest rating one can give a book on Amazon is 5 stars, I would have given this book more. Written in simple language, easy to read, very engaging, though-provoking and insightful. Its certainly given me a new perception of life and the the world...I've gone and bought books 2 and 3 and cant wait to read them too!

As a therapist I have found Dr Newton's books an inaluable aid for my own work in regressions/progressions. And, I do recommend his books as an introduction to what lies beyond our preceptible physical world to clients, friends and acquaintances - who wish to make up their own minds. The point here is less about whether one believes what he writes is unshakeable proof of existence beyond our senses but that these experiences open up new vistas on life and our own purposes. Even if none of it were true, one could still gain immensly from such insights. Hi I suffered immeasurable depression following my Mum's death 1 month ago. She suffered from Leukaemia and one of the most important aids to her coping with this was Eckart Tolle's The Power of Now - the whole book and the exercises additional book. She kept her brave and honest spirit alive through his words and didnt fear death, she was ready I guess. I have been trying to get out of my misery - I miss her so much it feels like my heart has been cut out. I have started reading her well-read Eckhart books - as a means to helping myself to simply exist. I was hugely dissapointed upon reading this book.Having seen numerous positive and glowing reviews, as well as it being widely stocked, I did not hesitate to buy this book when I attempted to start painting again after a period of acute illness. Unfortunatley, my hopes were not met. Wishy-washy and pseudo-psychological opinions really started to grate with me, as well as the authors dramatic use of theatrical language. There is also an obssesive reliance on God which could possibly become a crutch for some recovering creatives. The book is not pragmatic, is not practical, is very linear , and very, very boring. This short book is the best parenting book I have read - and indeed helps so much in marriage and other relationships too. The theory is that we all have one of five ways of giving and receiving love, and if you understand yours and other peoples, it helps to understnad their reactions, motivations etc. It is excellent. Knowing my 'love language' and my husband's has helped me so much. It is a really quick read and a very simple idea, but I found it really helpful.

This is by far the best, most comprehensive and most clear intro to Christian theology available. In any attempt such as this certain areas will not be handled with the utmost sophistication (perhaps outdated notions of Gregory of Nyssa not overcoming tritheism and the old chestnut about Barth's "modalism" being preserved) but on the whole it's impossible to envision a more sucessful, comprehensive and clear intro to Christian Theology.
