Speaking as a former Christian (and now an ardent secularist), I can say without hesitation that this book should be read by EVERY person who considers themself to be a Christian. I have bought more copies of this book than any other as I regularly give copies to friends and family members, as I am that confident that their lives would be bettered by considering the issues it raises. A copy of this book should reside in every hotel room across the Western world.

I bought this after my therapist looked up teeth due to some continuous problems I was having, I totally related to what Louise said was causing this. It has just about every illness or ailment known to us. It was suggested that I mark each ailment I had suffered from and see if there was an obvious link - it wasnt just obvious, it shouted at me!. If you keep suffering from an ailment just look it up, it will have a much deeper meaning which could be something that you need to address to move on ( a meditation is then given to help you do this). It works on an emotional and physical level. A must have book for every one interested in self healing and helping others.

This book is an alleged christian book because it twists the scriptures and goes against what the word of God says. In my opinion this is not christian at all, but written from someone who I identify with cult practices. How come so many churches use this book when it goes against so many christian values and scriptures?? Do the christians that read this book read the bible? Apparently not, or they might find issues with it that I did. Also why does it make you sign a covenant at the start of the book? Me and my friends do not recommend this reading if you are serious about your walk with God. However if you are serious about your walk with God, the Holy Spirit will direct you into all truth.

I did not find this book helpful at all. The book does not contain "an approach / technique" to raising your self-esteem. It is purely about case studies. Listening to people's stories does not help raise self-esteem. There are better books on self-esteem. I would not recommend this book.

I wanted to provide a review as a counter-balance to the other, more positive reviews. I am currently reading 'Full Catastrophe Living' and purchased the CD to help me practice meditation. To be honest, I wish I'd stuck to just the book! Jon seems like a lovely, compassionate man but I find him incredibly annoying! I tried the 'eating meditation' first and could not stop myself from giggling everytime he said the word 'raisin'! I love the New York accent but, unfortunately, I do not find it relaxing. His constant repetition, particularly of the words 'moment...by moment...by moment...by moment...by moment' (you get the picture!) is irritating beyond belief. His book illustrates this with numerous examples of the intolerance of Judaism, Christianity and Islam not only towards each other but towards heretics and unbelievers - those who do not cloak their ideas of good and evil in the guise of supernatural personae. Very interesting for someone new to the concept of emotional intelligence, especially parents or teachers. Almost all examples and studies are drawn from children (kindergarten or primary school age, mostly), and how their EQ can be observed and stimulated. However, the book of limited use to adults who want to understand the strengths and limitations of their own emotional intelligence, or how to improve it. I gather when this book first came out it was a groundbreaking work. Much research and writing has been done since then, so there are probably better choices for someone who wants to learn about emotional intelligence in adults.

Excellent quality. The bundled audio CD is so powerful it should be sold as a separate product. The book is the definitive guide to cosmic-ordering. Simple as that. I've been reading a lot recently. I guess everybody goes through a stage where they are asking questions about life and looking for answers. I read The Secret by Rhonda Byrne which introduced me to the law of attraction, which is a philosophy/understanding of the laws and powers of the universe. It's a brilliant little book that helped me to see that there is so much more to life. The ultimate guide to cosmic-ordering is a practical guide that shows you how to 'talk' to the cosmos, to focus on your desires, and take action to make all your dreams come true. As I am neither a full believer in that which we can not see, nor am i a full blown skeptic, I felt i was facing this book with an open mind. It is very well written and if you are to believe in what it says, it is a beautiful thing to feel is both ahead of us and behind us! Dr. Weiss fails in only one place for me - He does not clearly show how he came to so strongly believe this lady was not 'pulling the wool over his eyes'. Apart from the comment about his son, noothing else really makes me feel this could be a definite truth. He mentions that he checked up dates and etc. she was speaking of, but never elaborates on this which left me feeling slightly frustrated. I must state here that I am being slightly over-negative towards the book here and am really nit-picking. Read More:
