The thesis of Sam Harris's book is that, once any group of people believe that they have a monopoly on moral truth, they are capable of perpetrating the most enormous crimes against humanity in the firm conviction that they have a duty to stamp out evil (Satan) in the name of good (God). His book illustrates this with numerous examples of the intolerance of Judaism, Christianity and Islam not only towards each other but towards heretics and unbelievers - those who do not cloak their ideas of good and evil in the guise of supernatural personae. A good balance between realistic modern ideas and the philosophies underpinning the original kama sutra. It looks at sex in the context of romance, mood setting and relaxation. Probably one for long term couples.

Having read all off Icke's works, I can clearly say it has changed my life. The man's method is clear: Tell the truth, no matter where the evidence takes you. Nobody can afford to go through life without reading one of his books. Enough said.

I bought this book 2 yrs ago after losing a loved one. It was the first time in my life that I'd ever lost someone close to me and it made me ask alot of questions. I was scared and wondered if death was truly the end. why did they go? would i see them again? can they see me? can i speak to them? what's the purpose of life? who's pulling the strings? I had so many questions that the religion i was practising at the time couldn't provide convincing answers. Then I read the reviews of this book on Amazon and I ordered it. IT CHANGED MY LIFE! Its written very simply written and very comforting. It triggered my quest for spiritual enlightenment and my life is all the better for it now! We need more books like this

This book was undoubtedly a groundbreaker, as it introduced many people to the concept of crystal skulls. It is written in the style of a real life detective story, and initially approaches the subject from a scientific angle. It finishes with the authors turning to spirituality for the answers, relying heavily on the wisdom of various Native American Elders. The reader though has to wade through 500 pages before any firm conclusions are drawn. The book fails to answer the most basic questions of what the skulls represent and how they can help mankind. This leaves the reader with more questions than answers. well done mr buzan - kid friendly graphics. i never finished the hard back version, but this is interesting for dads too - less theory and more doing. good for us time pressed parents to get the basics and help our kids

I have to admit that I am a bit of a fan of Pema Chodron, having heard her audiobooks "How to Meditate", "Pure Meditation" and "True Happiness". I like her down-to-earth, yet wise and compassionate style. This is the first book I have read of Pema's and it is beautiful. It took me a while to get into it, and I enjoyed the last 7 chapters the most especially the "Sending & Taking" chapter on Tonglen practice, the chapter called "Not preferring Samsara to Nirvana" which spoke a little about ego involvement, and finally the chapter "Sticking to One Boat" which has inspired me to buy Trungpa's "Cutting Through Spiritual Materialism". 10 years before coming across Pema's beautiful teachings I got involved with A.Cohen's ego-inflated,neurotic nonsense and it seriously put me off ... Albert Einstein was a whacky, comical genius. He was often seen wearing ''borat-esq man-kini's'' strutting around town trying to seduce the homeless. A rollercoaster comedy story which will have you reaching for that box of kleenex not only to whipe the tears of laughter away from your eyes, the minx.
