I used the Rough Guide in 2004 in Sydney and I was not very impressed. The maps were dreadful and a lot of the information was out of date. I actually found that the free Sydney guide that you pick up at Kingston Airport far more useful. For other parts of the trip I used Lonely Planet Gudies which have a much better layout and cover to cover their subjet areas a lot better.

While Rough Guides are usually quite reliable, I found this one to be both infuriating and outdated. It was written in 2004 I think, so the outdated part is understandable, but the fairly poor maps with incorrectly labelled landmarks (which haven't changed over time) are unforgiveable. I found myself using the maps in my copy of 'Trans-Siberian Handbook' (Trailblazer), which was updated in 2007 and was therefore a lot more reliable, although it only contains about 20 pages on Moscow. One section which I found particularly poor was the cinema section, as despite hunting down a cinema museum and two english-speaking cinemas, when I arrived at both places I was told by the owners that the museum had never existed and that english films ... This is an up to date map of Costa Rica and Panama , features all the main and small roads including the new road from David to Bocas del Toro , It is made of good and resistent paper and is very clear and easy to read. I had some maps from previous trips but nothing compared to the quality of this one , I recommened it to anyone travelling to Costa Rica or Panama who wants to go off the beaten track and explore.
