.....but I'm afraid you will be disappointed. He tells us practically nothing about himself and what he does tell we already know. The book reads like a chronology of events rather than the inner thoughts of a sporting hero. But what do you expect from the silent man mountain? Austin Healy, although not in the same league as a rugby legend, did produce a far more enjoyable and revealing account of life as a rugby star.

I have utilised some of the training drills in this book to teach Tag Rugby, generally only 10-15% of the drills can be used with tag rugby, but most will be used next year in contact. A good book to start off with

I am American living in the UK, so I knew nothing about Rugby. I have seen a few matches and vaguely understood the game. After reading this book I am much more able to follow the game and impress my UK friends, but it was only from watching matches before reading this book. If you are completely new to the game this book will not be as helpful.

I started this book expecting the gossip, half baked platitudes of the world champions' coach and the mantra of 'my family has always been the most important etc'. And instead, I got honest, considered thoughts of a coach who struggled with his business, his bosses and his team in his attempts to transform the English rugby team. His loyalty to all means he doesn't dish the dirt and he is only ever critical of his own performance. However, where the book does score big time; Woodward outlines the techniques he employed to change the staid English team. For a sports coach, he was ahead of his time in his willingness to examine new ideas and apply them to team performance. Without a doubt one of the best autobiographies i have read, couldn't put it down!The book works because its open and honest,and i just didnt realise how funny Will Greenwood is!Its written in a laid back style, which means you don't have to concentrate too hard when your reading it, its almost like he's telling the story to a mate. I also thought it was good because it shows the highs and lows of being a professional rugby player, and it also gave me a new incite as to just how prepared the England team were for the World cup. The whole book just flowed and I was disappointed when it finished!great book!

I looked forward to Lawrence Dallaglio's book but found it quite tedious at times. He is great man, and I will always remember him as the ultimate rugby warrior but David Walsh does not do him any great favours with this worthy but stodgy effort
