This is novel based on a game and it shows. The story moves along quite nicely however the book feels like a series of action scenes strung together. The brief interludes between the sadly rushed action scenes add new dimensions to the characters and reveal more of their motives etc. These are well written and the reason this book receives three stars. To fans of the Expanded Universe and the more dedicated fans this book will frustrate with its disregard to the saga's key story of the chosen one/Anakin being the strongest force user ever(especially when StarKiller displays his full power in the penultimate scene).Like the game this book is based on, it is a missed opportunity.

these books are definitely my favourite books! and i've read an awful lot of books. they are so brilliantly original and although some people see parallels with lord of the rings, Narnia and Harry Potter, i think that there is no truth in this whatsoever and those people completely misunderstand the meaning behind names and the plot. i've recommended them to all my friends and not once has anyone failed to talk to me after reading them with astonished expressions. i've just finished the singing and it doesn't dissapoint. i can't wait for the next series of books alison croggon writes! this book will have you thinking and dreaming about the characters long after you've reached the end!

I think my problem with this book(/s) is that I didn't read it when I was a child. If I had done, I may have loved it like I did Star Wars or appreciated the world it creates like I now accept that the World of Warcraft universe is impressive in its size and scope.
As it is, I can't get over how thoroughly mediocre the whole thing is. People talk about it as an epic but what is epic about it other than its incredible length? People talk about the life lessons you can learn from it or its universal themes of good and bad. Really? Are we ever given even the tiniest shred of motivation for any of the characters? Is it ever explained to us why the 'good' characters are good or why the 'evil' ones are evil?
I challenge any one of this ... Read More:

This is, in my opinion, an essential guide for fans of The Black Dagger Brotherhood series, even those who have become disillusioned with the direction of the more recent books. The novella with Zsadist and Bella alone is worth the price. And add to that tons of information about each of the six brothers, all neatly gathered, right at your finger tips. A great guide to keep along with all your other brother books. Its sure to please any fan.

The Insider's Guide includes-
*82 page novella about Zsadist, Bella and Nalla (covers the birth and months afterward concentrating on Zsadist's adjustment to fatherhood)
* The Brother's stats (age, weight, eyes etc), personal questions answer sheet (e.i. fav TV show, what do you fear most?, ... Read More:

This is one of the best books i have ever read. Its plot will have you stuck to the sofa making you unable to put it down until you've gotten to the end. I wasn't sure about it at first but after starting to read i couldn't stop. I now look very forward to reading the other books in the immortal series.

Unfortunately, a rather disappointing final novel in a series I had been really enjoying. After the first novel I was completely sold on this new, gritty fantasy lark. No poetry, maps or simple working-class orphans who find that they're actually a king....just three-dimensional characters with real contradictions and real concerns. Plus lots of violence, sex and sewaring. Obviously. It was towards the end of the second book that I started getting worried. I mean, an entire novel about a journey to the end of the world just to find out the thing they're after isn't there and they should just bugger-off back home? Unexpected, yes. Un-clichéd, yes. Lazy, irrelevant writing just to cover a few character personality changes...well let's just see ... Read More:
