I have found this textbook really helpful in my studies. The full audio version on the CDROM, is great for remembering all the muscles and other difficult body parts all my class mates struggled on. I would say if you are studying Anatomy and Physiology as part of your course, get this book.

I found this book really useful for filling all the gaps on my PGCE year. It dips into education theory in more depth than our lectures did, but is not so pretentious or jargon-filled that I struggled with it. I also found the accompanying Readings for Reflective Teaching useful- especially as resource for essays or for trying to get your head around Vygotsky or Piaget in their own words.

Well I love a good Bill Bryson book and this is surely the best. As a travel writer he has kept me interested and amused with many an exciting journey but this rates as the best journey he has ever written. A journey that takes the layman on a travel experience spanning billions of years including an insight into all the sciences and ologies one can imagine. If only I had been able to read science at school like this...I might well have found an interest.

My husband a dentist bought this book in 1994/5 the second edition and I use it now (he only coloured in the head) I am studying medicine and this book is awesome, the reason being I have a pictorial memory and by learning by colouring it has helped tremendously, in addition it is great when you are running out of time and the table at the back is invaluable giving you a breakdown of the muscle and the nerve supply and root value, I would definitely recommend getting this book for any medical student, I used this book as main core knowledge and built on it its a great starting block, I have limited spacial awareness and the way this books layers each muscle group is a real asset, it separates muscles groups into logical orders making them easier to remember. ... I bought this book for my son who was very interested in letters and reading but was not really learning to read in nursery - i must say it's really really good. Great advice about how to approach teaching, lots of printables, colouring pages, things to stick in workbooks, tricky words - we had great fun, and very straight forward for people who're not professional teachers. This book has more than enough material that you won't need to buy anything else, but we liked it so much we bought the workbooks too. I now use it with my second child and i'm looking to move up to the grammer handbook for my eldest.

This book is a must have for all medical students entering their clinical years. Read it early! I only discovered the gems contained within this book when my OSCE's were approaching as it had been collecting dust on the shelf and I was kicking myself that I hadn't read it earlier. Plenty of pictures and illustrations to clarify the procedures.
