Although I am a man, I have bought this book out of sheer curiosity. The purpose of the book is to drive a man's interest in a woman through the roof by using different 'tricks' (called rules) and I believe these tricks are good if they indeed increases a man's interest in a woman. After all, do we not want people to be in love with each other? The Rules gives indeed some good advice. For example, "rule 4: Don't (...) go dutch on a date", "rule 21: Don't tell him what to do" or "rule 23: don't expect a man to change or try to change him" are gold. Some would say it is common sense, as nagging a man diminishes his interest in you very quickly. In the real world, many classy women have already figured this out but many more are clueless on how ... Read More:

This book provides undergraduates, particularly first year students in human geography a comprehensive grounding into the key debates within human geography. It is also a good text for any students wishing to re-familiarising with a variety of geographical issues. This book is easy to understand, but never simplistic. It also excellent case study material and references for further reading. A near essential book for any human geographers.

Don't be fooled by the new cover on the most recent issue of Roadcraft. This book is not just for Advanced Police drivers but for everyone who has a keen interest in driving and for driving safely. As a traffic cop myself it is the bible for all the courses, however, it also takes drivers who have passed the DVLA standard test and through very well laid out sections, teaches them a whole different approach to their driving.

Without giving too much away, it teaches drivers to adopt a proven system of car control which WILL improve anticipation and observation skills dramatically amongst many other things.

A very worthwhile read indeed.

I do not know how Americans view Islam but as an Englishman/European it seems to me that Said's views are so much poppycock. To make a couple of points in a limited space.

Of course we have a stereotypical view of Islam just as Islam has a stereotypical view of us - and these views are largely hostile .So what? For century after century Islam was an enormous threat to what might loosely be called Christendom. It shaped every aspect of European history and was directly responsible for Europes colonial empires. Up till around 1750 they were a dangerous direct competitor to our interests.Gibbon writing in the 1780s was the first to think that the danger had passed .On a local scale the threat lasted even longer - Barbary pirates ravaged ... I would like to say that I read this book in French, and that it is very legible. I haven't read the English version, but I would like to do so, following the allegations that Barthes wrote pretentiously. In French, his verbs, nouns and adjectives are incisive and often very funny. Each sentence carries one or numerous clear, often witty ideas. Overall, it's very clearly written, though some may find it pretentious.

Sentences in French tend to be longer, through the use of commas, semicolons, and transitions which one may have a hard time translating. I agree that the second part, Myth Today, is more difficult to understand, perhaps because it is an abstraction, a theorization of the first part.

the third book by Cathy Glass is as moving as the last two volumes. Cathy writes well without being over the top as so many of the "misery memoirs" can be. Cathy paints a picture of her very ordinary family (and I mean that as a compliment, not an insult) trying their best to give Dawn the best life they can. It is to be hoped that the social services do a better job now than they did 25 years ago. Without wishing to spoil the story for others their deliberate withholding of the facts about Dawn's upbringing could have been extremely damaging to the Glass family. The only thing that didn't ring true in fact was Cathys ( and also her husbands) reaction to those revelations........... I would have made an official complaint at least but I suppose that it would have stopped ... Read More:
