Sorry, but I hated this book, it grated on me from the first page. The charachters, the dialogue, the story - I just didn't connect with any of it - I found it tiresome, tedious and unbelievable (what's with the charachter names? Strike, The Word, Futon, Thumper, Peanut, Duck, Big Chief, - I found them laughable - they totally detracted from what's supposed to be a serious book). And the dialogue! who speaks like the characters in this novel? - some of it made me laugh out loud - yet another thing that detracted from the supposed realism. This book begins very well, with the intelligent observation that we "choose to be in love", and moves through various concepts with a wealth of well-observed common sense. Where it fell down most abruptly was with reference to what comes after kissing, becoming coy and indirect and concluding that anything further must wait until marriage, because "of course you want to get married!" and that any relationship outside of marriage is doomed... An adolescent flirtation with extreme political ideas followed by the realisation that he was a bit less than educated. All power to his rallying call for moderate muslims to have a public voice. Tends to lend a bit of credence tothe Sam Harris theory that without moderate religion we wouldn't have extremist religion; after all, had Ed been brought up as an atheist he wouldn't have flirted with Islamism.

i have just completed my nvq level 3 with the help of this book, it is brilliant and helped me with evrything i needed to know and is insightful into the world of childrens care and help me understand it more easily. the book is broken down into the core mandotory units you are required to coomplete and optional units. it is like the bible if you are doin the course and is well worth having.

I read this book very recently and was purturbed by it as it does seem to suggest that the only really happy realtionships we can experience in this life might be same sex partnerships - I doubt this was the author's intention but that's how it struck me. Anyone else feel the same? I'm straight by the way.

This book is fantastic 24 - 18st (and still losing weight!). Results speak for themselves. I advise you to read an article on the internet 'what if it has been one big fat lie?' Gary Taubes. I've now bought his book. This is what has led me to do the diet - and also from seeing results on other friends and family members. This cookbook gives you loads of ideas, just remember under 20g Carbs a day untill you get to the weight you want and after that gradually increasing it (every 2 weeks) untill you find yourself putting weight back on. And remember that, unfortunately, all your coffees/wines/beers/cokes are all loaded with carbs. Good luck!

This book is absolutely brilliant...it covers EVERYTHING and answers all the questions or concerns you might have about weddings...this is definitely the book to read before planning your wedding...it's even sutable for the 'bride on a budget' as it has a specific section on each chapter on this...this book is highly recommended for anyone that is planning their own wedding or helping someone else to do so.

If you are needing to learn both SPSS and statistics at the same time and intimidated at all by the math, this is a great book to help take you through the quagmire of both the SPSS software, the principles of statistics and make sense of it all too! Andy Field has done an excellent job at taking much of the mystery out of how and why to use the various tests. The book is comprehensive but the analysis of my research and study is focussed primarily on correlation, t-tests and regression. There are chapters in the book I will probably never read as I cannot foresee ever needing to read them. But, the book is very useful for referencing particular areas and providing a tutorial as you are working. I found myself so much in toads situation, a friend gave me this book. I hadn`t read a paper or watched tv for weeks, I read this book in a couple of days! This book is not only useful to inspiring herons but also to us depressed toads. I loved this book and am now in agreement to attend for counselling,couldn`t recommend it highly enough! An insight from cover to cover.
