I am not a gardener, I have never watched gardeners world and have only a small back yard. i somehow came across this book while browsing amazon and thought it would be a nice stocking filler for my husband. anyhow, it is so easy to follow and inspiring that we now have green beans, leeks, onions and shallots growing in our little garden. The difference in taste from supermarket veg is unbelievable. This is a great book that takes you from buying seeds to taking vegetables out of the ground, if i can do it, anyone can! Next season we are moving on to courgettes, potatoes, broccoli........

You know what to expect when you start reading a Chris Ryan novel. The formula has been well established by now and the author has become, over time, extremely proficient at his work. Readers familiar with Mr Ryan's style will naturally expect certain elements to be present in the work - the trademark action sequences and procedural details, for example - but many reviews of the authors' last few novels seem to suggest that, in doing so, the work has lost some of the immediacy that Mr Ryan's earlier novels undoubtedly possessed. An unfair assessment, to say the very least!

Firefight is certainly one of the best novels Ryan has written in many years, and that is said by a reader who has greatly enjoyed the most recent offerings, as much ... Read More:

The strength of the book is the detailed description of the development of a cathedral and its impact on the prosperity of a town through a page-turning narrative and fictional characters. It is a fairly easy read on a difficult subject. It covers the civil war during the 12th century (Stephen and Maud) The downside is it is not a very memorable read. When my book club recommended it, I did not even remember I had aready done so! I certainly would not say don't read it - especially if you are doing GCSE architecture or medieval history. It does bring the period to life more than a textbook would and that can spur you on to learn more. However, it is not a great piece of historical fiction.

In this lovely, useful book, Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein examine choices, biases and the limits of human reasoning from a variety of perspectives. They often amuse by disclosing how they have fallen victim to the limitations of thought that they are describing. The fact that these educated, articulate professionals can fool themselves so often demonstrates how tough it is to think clearly, a point the authors emphasize and even repeat. Humans fall prey to systematic errors of judgment, but you can harness this problematic tendency productively, including by helping others make better decisions. Some of the authors' suggestions may not be practical, but many are and all are interesting. getAbstract recommends this book to anyone who wants to know how ... Read More:

My 15 month old boy loves this book mainly because he loves opening flaps! We vary between this and the 'Where's Spot' book (where the flaps are easier to spot). He never seems to tire of them!

I would really recommend this book, though the way it says 'One minute later' and so on just gives it one star less. Louise Rennison is a fabulous writer, who can really relate to children of this age. It shows that every teen aged girl has these unfortunate tiffs and I love it!!!! It is very eyecatching too and has got a guide for kissing on the last page which really gives it a lot of fabnosity. It's a liveley book and one of the wonderful books Ive read in my life out of about 6 which actually made me giggle, which is amazing since it's very hard to make a girl giggle at words on a page. It takes a lot of skill and patience to write a wonderful, fabulous book like this and Louise Rennison is a truly gifted writer! XOXOLILYXOXO

This is a book written by a boy Jasper Dean, & some parts from the eyes of his father Martin Dean. It is about their journey & adverntures through their lives. From Martin's childhood to when Jasper is born & his upbringing. The other significant character is Jasper's notorious criminal hero uncle Terry who is loved by the nation.
The book is in 3 parts which I tought was a rather good gimmick.
I personally loved the parts written by Jasper but found the philosophical ponderings of Martin tiring & boring; although he is as funny as Jasper& has a wonderful sense of humour. I laughed & chuckled many times whilst reading this book..
I felt the characters & the story were so realistic I had to check to make sure it wasn't based on a true ... Read More:
