I have found the AA Spiral Guide to Amsterdam to be an invaluable help, both in the planning of my recent trip to the city and also whilst I was there. It is a very clear and concise guide book, cleverly divided into several useful chapters. I found the directional arrows easy to follow, as well as the small maps..never too much info at once.And the quality of the photography is as superb as I would expect from an AA publication. All in all this is an excellant guide book to use anywhere.......but especially in Amsterdam!

Not very enlightening - small pages, large print and lots of full page photos. Mainly orientated to Milan and the Western lakes it doesn't even mention Verona airport in its International Flights paragraph. Practical information is sparse and of a general nature.

I totally agree with the reviewer above, Except: beware of the maps. Even a local couldn't find where we were on them! On the whole a very good guide though.

Although the latest motorways might not show on this map ( as mentioned in other reviews ), this map is still the best I have come across for trekking with Rambling Roger in the Gran Canarian mountains. As a hiker having just returned from Gran Canaria ( February 2008 ), I can confirm I found this map the best available, and after all we do not walk on motorways!!!
